About Yushan World Sales Center
Yushan World is a sales center in Jiangyin, China, with an area of 7000 square meters. The interior layout follows the butterfly shape of the building. The foyer is formed by abstract symmetrical wings, and an arc-shaped wall divides and interlaces the space. An atrium and large French windows bring natural light into the curved rooms. A three-dimensional surround multimedia hall guides visitors through the experience. Ultra-white curved boards made of wood and biofiber plastic composites are light in weight and echo the arcs of the space.
Within the evolving landscape of contemporary commercial interior design, Junlong Yuan's Sales Center emerges as a compelling meditation on the intersection of ceremonial grandeur and intimate hospitality, demonstrating how spatial design can elevate transactional environments into memorable experiential destinations. The work engages with traditions of threshold architecture—those liminal spaces designed to mark significant transitions—while deploying a decidedly contemporary formal vocabulary rooted in parametric design thinking and biophilic sensibility. The commanding ceiling installation, with its radial array of timber fins converging toward a central luminous ring, suggests multiple iconographic readings: the protective canopy of ancient gathering spaces, the radiating petals of an opening flower, or perhaps the spokes of a celestial wheel marking sacred center. This sculptural gesture achieves what the most accomplished architectural interventions aspire to—the creation of a spatial experience that transcends mere function to activate emotional and symbolic registers within visitors. The material palette demonstrates sophisticated understanding of how surfaces communicate: the warm timber elements introduce organic warmth and tactile appeal that humanizes the monumental scale, while the polished stone flooring with its natural veining patterns grounds the space in geological permanence. The designer appears to orchestrate a carefully calibrated dialogue between vertical aspiration embodied in the soaring white-clad walls and horizontal extension through the transparent periphery that connects interior to landscape. Functional zones—seating areas, display shelving, circulation paths—are integrated with apparent effortlessness, each maintaining distinct identity while contributing to unified spatial harmony. How might visitors experience their own journey through this space as a form of architectural narrative, moving from threshold to center to contemplation?

- Unique Properties
- The interior layout learns from the butterfly shape of the building. The foyer is shaped with abstract symmetrical wings and arc-shaped wall produces a strong sense of interlacement and segmentation of the space.
The designers leveraged natural light in large areas to create a calm and comfortable indoor space. Through an artful combination of atrium and large French windows, the consecutive curved spaces seem to interpret a beautiful expectation of waiting cocoons to turn into butterflies. - Dimensions & Packaging

- Production Technology
- The introduction of 3D surround multimedia hall attracts visitors to be immersed in the experience journey.
The new ultra-white arc-shaped board made from wood and biofiber plastic composites (wood plastic board) echoes the arc of the entire space, creating a calm and comfortable artistic atmosphere of the space. - Design Challenge
- The entrance space is designed with two curved non-bearing walls. As the overall floor height is nearly 9 meters, it is difficult to carry out construction which needs great load-carrying capability. Considering environmental protection and site construction, the designers selected light wood-plastic decorative boards, which can satisfy the overall decorative effect and address the construction difficulties.
- Project Duration
- The project started in Octber 2019 and finished in May 2010 in Jiangyin, China
- Operation Flow
- Inspired by the butterfly-like terrain of Jiangyin City, the design continues to use butterfly-shaped elements, echoing the architecture's butterfly form. After several days of struggling and suffering, silkworm chrysalis finally gains tenacious wings to fly freely in the sky. The interior layout learns from the butterfly shape of the building. The foyer is shaped with abstract symmetrical wings and arc-shaped wall produces a strong sense of interlacement and segmentation of the space.
- Research
- The designers are committed to exploring the combination of commerce and art. They aim to discover more possibilities of art shaping and create richer and more appealing space.
- Inspiration
- Inspired by the butterfly-like terrain of Jiangyin City, the design continues to use butterfly-shaped elements, echoing the architecture's butterfly form. It carries forward the core value of ecological art and starts a magnificent exploration of future urbanism.
