About 365 Studio Beauty Saloon

365 Studio is a beauty studio planned for parallel treatments in central Kyiv. Up to five specialists can work with one client at the same time, so manicure, pedicure, hair coloring, eyebrow care and makeup can be completed in one or two hours. The interior covers 250 square meters on two floors and holds a reception, a waiting room with a bar, manicure and pedicure halls, a men's zone with a separate entrance, a color bar, a VIP room and staff areas. A stair with a curved green steel banister joins the floors. Ergonomics guided every dimension.

Bogdanova Bureau's 365 Studio Beauty Saloon emerges from contemporary interior design discourse as a compelling meditation on movement, transformation, and the ceremonial nature of self-care rituals, positioning the beauty salon typology within an elevated architectural framework typically reserved for cultural institutions or luxury hospitality. The design demonstrates remarkable sophistication in its deployment of the spiral staircase as both functional circulation and primary sculptural gesture, the sweeping emerald balustrade suggesting influences ranging from mid-century organic modernism to contemporary parametric design while maintaining accessibility and human scale. Technical achievement manifests most dramatically in the seamless execution of the curved lacquered surfaces, where the deep teal finish wraps continuously around complex three-dimensional geometry without visible seams or inconsistencies, suggesting advanced fabrication techniques and meticulous craftsmanship. The chromatic strategy proves particularly noteworthy, establishing the saturated viridian as a signature element that carries conceptual weight, green traditionally associated with renewal, growth, and natural vitality, themes deeply resonant with beauty and wellness enterprises. Material juxtapositions throughout the space demonstrate careful calibration: the cool precision of the lacquered curves against warm timber cladding, the solidity of stone treads against transparent glass panels, the organic irregularity of plant material against geometric architectural forms. The illuminated stair risers transform the functional element into a luminous sculptural object, particularly effective during evening hours when the glowing ascent would create an almost ceremonial quality to vertical movement through the space. The pendant lighting installation introduces playful verticality, the suspended spheres at varying heights creating dynamic visual interest while their matching teal finish reinforces chromatic unity. One might consider how this design reframes the beauty salon experience from mere commercial transaction to meaningful spatial journey, inviting contemplation of how architectural environments shape our experience of personal transformation and care.

Unique Properties
It is a beauty studio with the possibility of parallel processes. Up to five masters can work with the client at the same time. Manicure, pedicure, hair dying, eyebrows and makeup can be done in one or two hours. Such an approach requires the perfect logic of the space where several masters do their work in one square meter. So the interior of 365 Studio is a celebration of ergonomics and thoughtful working process.
Dimensions & Packaging
The project covers a total of 250 square meters. 365 Studio occupies some part of the ground floor and the first floor in a new building in central Kyiv. There are the main reception, a waiting room with a bar, wardrobe, a manicure hall, a sterilization room, and a roomy man zone with a separate entrance on the ground floor. The first floor has a female manicure and pedicure hall, makeup and hairdressing area, a VIP room, a kitchen and a relaxation space for staff, a sterilization room, and a color bar where hair dyes are mixed.

Production Technology
The key element of the project is the stair with a green steel banister. We had to cut out a part of the floor above and reinforce the building construction before it. 10 mm thick steel sheets for banister were cut and bent in advance to be welded on site. We built up a lifting tackle in the building which held every metal sheet and let weld them unsupported. After that we had all joints primed and moped like in automotive manufacturing.
Design Challenge
The crucial aspect of 365 Studio’s interior is its ergonomics and thoughtful logistics inside the space. The comfort of customers and masters is equally important. We calculated everything, evena correct swing of the pedicure chair by testing it on the real-size model so that a client can take off and take on their shoes in the most comfortable way.
Project Duration
The project started in July 2019 and finished in desember 2019. It is located in Kyiv, Ukraine
Operation Flow
The most challenging point in this project is ergonomics. We fought for every centimeter, we calculated the best swinging angle of the pedicure chair to let the client put their shoes off and on in the most comfortable way. We re-checked everything to make it comfortable for clients and masters.
Research
People in big cities have quite a busy life nowadays. A visit to a beauty salon is also scheduled in their life planner. They respect their time and demand a high level of service. That is why 365 Studio implemented parallel processes. It is important to make such an approach comfortable not only for customers but for masters who spend in the salon the whole day. Our aim was to create a space where the high quality of service goes along with high speed and maximum comfort.
Inspiration
Rounded lines, plants, and green banisters look like a rippling ribbon in a rhythmic gymnast’s hand – 365 Studio looks like a pleasant and calm place. However the beauty industry is a complex of procedures which should be done exactly and accurately. It is like a pit stop in Formula-1 where a group of professionals do their job together so well-orchestratedly that it looks impressive even by side.
