Matt Arquette is a multidisciplinary award winning furniture designer whose inspiring pieces have garnered him a reputation as a purveyor of artistic and alternative styles. His work is characterised by his infatuation of exploring the alternative, investigations into environmental furniture and avant-garde approach to Material alternatives. Matt's creative individuality has been acknowledged by a wide spectrum of flagship design brands such as IKEA and Lamborghini. - Inspiration
- Merete is a stunning Lounge and Console Table Collection that draws inspiration from the sleek and luxurious aesthetic of modern yachts. As the creator of this exceptional collection, my motivation was to capture the essence of elegance and sophistication that is characteristic of high-end yachts and to bring that into interior design. My inspiration for this project was derived from the sheer beauty and design ingenuity of luxury yachts. I was inspired by the seamless way in which these vessels move across water and the sense of fluidity and grace that they exude.
- Research
- The design research for the Lounge and Console Table Collection began with a qualitative study of the luxury yacht industry to identify key design elements and materials that could be incorporated into the collection. The research objective was to create a collection that would be visually stunning and highly functional.
