Production Technology

The production and realization technology of your design incorporates the use of premium materials such as leather, solid exotic woods, and highly polished metals. These materials are expertly crafted and combined to create a truly exceptional Lounge and Console Table Collection. The production process involves utilising advanced manufacturing techniques and skilled craftsmanship to bring the design to life. The result is a collection that is both visually stunning and highly functional, designed to last for years to come.

Design Challenge

The creative challenge was to create a streamlined design that appeared to be floating while being functional and using premium materials. The solution involved research, design iterations, and collaboration with engineering experts to incorporate counter-lever effects and voids in the base. The challenges of weight distribution and material use were addressed, resulting in a visually stunning and functional collection that positively impacted the luxury furniture industry.

Research

The design research for the Lounge and Console Table Collection began with a qualitative study of the luxury yacht industry to identify key design elements and materials that could be incorporated into the collection. The research objective was to create a collection that would be visually stunning and highly functional.

Inspiration

Merete is a stunning Lounge and Console Table Collection that draws inspiration from the sleek and luxurious aesthetic of modern yachts. As the creator of this exceptional collection, my motivation was to capture the essence of elegance and sophistication that is characteristic of high-end yachts and to bring that into interior design.

My inspiration for this project was derived from the sheer beauty and design ingenuity of luxury yachts. I was inspired by the seamless way in which these vessels move across water and the sense of fluidity and grace that they exude. I wanted to capture that same sense of movement and grace in the design of Merete, so that it would appear to effortlessly glide through any space.

Throughout the design process, my thoughts were focused on creating a collection that would be both functional and visually stunning, while also evoking a sense of luxury and refinement. I carefully considered every aspect of the design, from the shape and form of the pieces to the choice of materials and finishes, to ensure that each element would work harmoniously to create a cohesive and captivating collection.

Overall, my goal with Merete was to create a collection that would transport people to a world of luxury and sophistication, evoking the feeling of being on board a stunning yacht while also serving a practical purpose in interior design.
