About Yin Mo Star Kui 4 Pieces Knife Set
Yin Mo Star Kui is a four piece Chinese knife set designed for home kitchens. Each blade is made of composite steel with a multilayer structure. A high carbon steel core keeps the edge sharp, while a low carbon steel surface layer resists corrosion. Hot forging at 1040 degrees Celsius and cold forging at minus 196 degrees Celsius improve strength and toughness. The forged surface is slightly rough, which reduces contact with sticky food. The handle has a concave grip area and balanced weight for comfort during long use. The black and silver finish carries a classic Taotie pattern.
Beijing Wang Mazi Technology Co., LTD's Yin Mo Star Kui 4 Pieces Knife Set emerges from a distinguished lineage of Eastern culinary craftsmanship while embracing contemporary industrial design language to create implements that serve both practical function and aesthetic appreciation. The collection demonstrates sophisticated understanding of material dialogue, pairing high-carbon steel blades bearing traditional hammered surface treatments with handles crafted from laminated wood displaying organic grain patterns that invite tactile engagement. This juxtaposition of ancient metalworking techniques with modern manufacturing precision speaks to broader conversations within contemporary craft practice regarding the preservation of artisanal knowledge within industrial production frameworks. The hammered blade surface, beyond its decorative appeal, serves functional purpose by creating air pockets that reduce friction during cutting while providing visual texture that transforms utilitarian objects into contemplative forms. The graduated sizing of the four implements suggests thoughtful consideration of culinary workflow, from robust cleaver capable of processing substantial ingredients to refined utility blade suited for detailed work. The accompanying storage block demonstrates equal design consideration through its sculptural profile, integrated grooves providing secure blade housing, and surface finish that harmonizes with the implements it protects. Compositionally, the presentation elevates these kitchen tools to subjects worthy of sustained visual attention, employing dramatic illumination and contextual staging that references both commercial product photography traditions and classical still life conventions. The inclusion of fresh ingredients at composition periphery grounds the sophisticated presentation in domestic reality while suggesting the transformation these implements enable. Viewers might consider how such objects mediate our relationship with nourishment and how elevated craft in everyday tools enriches quotidian experience.

- Production Technology
- The knife set employs 1040 degrees Celsius hot and minus 196 degrees Celsius cold forging processes to ensure lastingly superior performance. The hot forging process improves the overall strength and toughness by optimizing the shape and eliminating imperfections. The cold one enhances the crystal structure to increase resistance to deformation. Compared to conventional knives, the product, benefiting from its special forging processes, achieves better durability and prolonged service life.
- Design Challenge
- The challenge was striking a balance between hardness and toughness of the knives to enhance durability and practicality. To address that, the blade is crafted from composite steel and utilizes a multilayer structure. The core layer of high carbon steel ensures lasting sharpness, suitable for precise cutting and prolonged use. The anti corrosion surface layer of low carbon steel is uneasy to rust even under damp conditions, reducing the risk of breakage and edge rolling.
- Project Duration
- This product was developed in Beijing in February, 2024, and will be launched in China in April, 2025.
- Operation Flow
- The ergonomic handle adopts a reasonably concave structure at the grip area and a streamlines shape, as well as scientifically distributed weight, to offer a comfortable grip and relieve hand fatigue during prolonged use.
A slightly rough surface resulted from forging processes effectively reduces the contact area between the food and the blade, making the knives especially suitable for handling sticky food. This improves cutting efficiency, contributing to smoother and more efficient operations. - Research
- Traditional Chinese knives often focus excessively on practicality while neglecting aesthetic pleasure and user experience. This product, however, demonstrates a profound understanding of traditional Chinese culture and a deep insight into modern lifestyles, and especially takes into account the needs of Chinese kitchens. It aims to bring users visual enjoyment and foster their cultural identity through unique appearance design while ensuring an efficient, effortless experience.
- Inspiration
- The product prioritizes both of aesthetic pleasure and practicality. Its refined forged texture significantly enhances visual layering while giving a strong 3D visual effect and a sense of dynamism. Meanwhile, the color scheme of black and silver, combined with the classic Taotie pattern as an embellishment, greatly improves visual appeal by marrying antiquity with modernity.
