Timeles Elegance Club House by Kris Lin emerges as a compelling meditation on the synthesis of movement and stillness, organic fluidity and architectural discipline, representing a distinctive contribution to contemporary hospitality design that draws upon both Eastern philosophical traditions of spatial contemplation and Western modernist explorations of sculptural form. The central helical staircase functions as the compositional and conceptual protagonist, its continuous spiraling surface suggesting the ancient symbol of ascent and transformation while its pristine materiality and precise engineering speak to contemporary technical mastery. The designer appears to have orchestrated a careful choreography of approach wherein visitors traverse floating circular platforms across the meditative plane of the reflecting pool, each step marking a gradual transition from the quotidian world into a realm of aesthetic refinement and spatial poetry. The material palette demonstrates sophisticated restraint, with warm stone cladding providing grounded earthiness against which the luminous sculptural element appears almost ethereal, particularly as twilight suffuses the scene with complementary cool and warm tonalities. Landscape elements have been curated with evident intentionality as the sculptural branching of bare trees and the chromatic accent of maple foliage create natural frames that soften architectural edges while reinforcing the dialogue between human construction and organic growth. The integration of concealed illumination transforms the composition into a luminous stage set as evening descends, each light source calibrated to enhance formal relationships and guide experiential navigation. - Challenge: Limited Light and Depth Perception
The underground location restricts natural light, while the deep layout risks feeling enclosed.
Solution
A courtyard as a fifth facade channels daylight inside, complemented by reflective materials such as glass and high-gloss stone for light diffusion. Layered lighting with indirect and accent sources enhances brightness and spatial depth. - Project Duration
- The project started in April 2024 in Wenzhou, Zhejiang Province and finished in August 2024 in Wenzhou, Zhejiang Province
- Operation Flow
- This design combines materials and craftsmanship to create a rich spatial experience. Natural stone, mirrors, and ceramics convey luxury and durability, while high-gloss materials and metalwork create striking visuals. Laminated glass acts as both a partition and a decorative element, enhancing transparency, safety, and dynamic lighting. Together, these elements meet functional needs and offer a unique sensory experience.
