About The Gorgeous Land Residence

The Gorgeous Land is an interior design for the common areas of an apartment building in Taipei, Taiwan. The project covers about 4134 square meters and includes the lobby, the parking area, the reception area on the third floor, and the entertainment and meeting room on the fourth floor. Earthy colors and natural materials such as stone and wood create a warm and comfortable atmosphere. Gray and white marble, metal frames, mirrors and light boxes shape the lobby. A transparent partition separates the lounge from the meeting room.

Within the distinguished lineage of contemporary residential interior design, this remarkable space by Hsin Chih Wu demonstrates an exceptional command of material orchestration and spatial layering that elevates domestic architecture to the realm of inhabitable sculpture. The central glass pavilion functions as both architectural feature and luminous art installation, its gridded brass framework supporting individually faceted beveled glass panels that fragment and multiply light in ways reminiscent of the crystalline structures celebrated in early twentieth-century decorative arts, yet rendered here with thoroughly contemporary restraint and precision. The designer's sophisticated understanding of chromatic temperature becomes evident in the careful calibration between warm tones emanating from the oak millwork and golden-hued metals against the cooling influence of gray-veined marble and steel-toned flooring, creating thermal equilibrium that reads as simultaneously inviting and refined. Particularly noteworthy proves the floor treatment, where polished marble gives way to an intricate geometric inlay of interlocking triangular tiles forming an organic pathway that guides movement through the space while introducing pattern complexity against the predominant rectilinear vocabulary. The pendant light installation cascading within the glass enclosure demonstrates masterful attention to vertical rhythm and illumination hierarchy, each elongated glass form contributing to a collective composition suggesting frozen precipitation or vertical garden. Material transitions throughout reveal exceptional craft consideration, from the flush integration of cove lighting within millwork reveals to the precise meeting of disparate floor materials. The sculptural mesh disc objects positioned on the floor introduce organic circular geometry that counterbalances the prevailing orthogonal system while grounding the soaring vertical space at human scale. Viewers might contemplate how the transparency of the central pavilion structure challenges traditional notions of room division while creating intimate enclosure through light and reflection rather than solid boundary.

Production Technology
The exterior of the building is made of Samantha Blue Granite, disclosing a rock solid look with its unique texture and color and conveying a sense of stability and trustworthiness. Entering the lobby, one will notice the gray and white marble texture in the space, together with the glow boxes with a sense of light, metal frames, and mirrored materials, creating a unique lighting design and a modern luxury space. In the parking area, distinct from the lobby clear white color scheme, the dark stone elements are integrated with the linear lighting of the canopy, reflecting a restrained and hi tech ish vibe.
Design Challenge
The vertical stratification of the space is planned to define the movement lines between residents and visitors entering the property. Therefore, it ensures the residents safety and the guest wonderful visit. Besides, the stone, the wood, and the light soft colors deliver a comfortable and relaxing spatial expression.
Project Duration
The project will be completed in 2026 in Taipei, Taiwan.
Operation Flow
Upstairs, the design team has set the VIP room concept as the brainstorming point to create an immersive and welcoming experience. The warmth of the space has been produced through the wood, and the space turns into a comfortable and pleasant guest reception area.
Research
On the other side, the configuration of distinct materials at the counter produces rich spatial layers. Moreover, the designer has planned the lounge and meeting room on the fourth floor with many wood elements, offering the users a relaxing and comfortable space. The two areas are defined by a transparent partition, making it look spacious and bright through light and opaqueness while keeping each spatial independence.
Inspiration
Since the areas mentioned above are those essential places that residents must go through day by day, the design team has resourcefully set earthy colors as the main color scheme of the space and combined it with natural elements to produce a warm, generous and comfortable living ambiance. In short, the common area is attractive, stress-releasing, and enjoyable.
