About Square And Circle Series Interior Design
Square and Circle Series is an integrated interior system for ceilings, walls, cabinets, and doors. The four elements share one design language, one color palette, and a common group of materials. A panel free approach conceals audio systems and other devices within the surfaces. Materials include aluminum honeycomb, aluminum core wood, moisture resistant wood, and particleboard, with finishes in PVC, PP, metal, and wood veneer. Standardized modules and a dry mount hardware structure simplify installation, maintenance, and later upgrades.
This residential interior evidences the contemporary integration of traditional spatial organization principles with minimalist material vocabularies and advanced lighting choreography, creating an environment where symmetry and axiality organize human experience within domestic space. The composition achieves notable equilibrium through bilateral arrangement along a central vertical axis, a classical organizational strategy that communicates stability and order while facilitating intuitive spatial navigation and visual comprehension. The material strategy demonstrates sophisticated restraint, limiting the palette to warm walnut timber and cool stone-toned surfaces that establish gentle temperature contrast without chromatic drama, a deliberate choice that privileges subtlety and longevity over fashionable intensity. The lighting design reveals particular accomplishment in its layered approach, combining recessed ambient fixtures with integrated linear accent lighting and dramatic backlighting to create atmospheric depth and hierarchy, transforming functional illumination into experiential narrative. The integration of contemporary display technology within traditional cabinetry frameworks suggests a design intelligence responsive to evolving domestic practices, accommodating screen-based media consumption while maintaining compositional dignity through symmetrical containment and material continuity. The coffered ceiling articulation adds vertical interest and acoustic performance while echoing classical architectural precedent, grounding contemporary spatial production within enduring design lineages. The furniture selection—particularly the low coffee table with its geometric slatted shelf and carefully curated objects including the traditional teapot and ceramic vessels—introduces human scale and cultural reference, suggesting habitation patterns that honor contemplative rituals and aesthetic appreciation. The decorative scroll panel at right, backlit to reveal landscape and calligraphic imagery, functions as both visual terminus and cultural anchor, potentially referencing traditions of scroll painting and appreciation that connect contemporary dwelling to historical aesthetic practices. How might this carefully calibrated environment support diverse modes of inhabitation across solitary reflection, intimate gathering, and mediated entertainment, and what does its material and spatial discipline suggest about the relationship between aesthetic restraint and experiential richness in contemporary domestic life?

- Production Technology
- High performance materials ensure durability and sustainability, such as 12mm aluminum honeycomb for superior flatness and nail holding, aluminum core wood for sound dampening and impact resistance, 5K wood resistant to moisture, fire, mold, pests, and stains, and dimensionally stable particleboard. Finishes include PVC, PP, metal, and wood veneer, with patterns customizable. Standardized modules and flexible production lines enable custom fabrication and fast assembly for scenario adaptability.
- Design Challenge
- Achieving precise alignment and secure installation among diverse ceilings, walls, cabinets, and doors remains a key challenge in custom design. This solution combines a tiered keel system for integrated ceilings with a dry mount, off wall hardware structure that simplifies installation and routing of electrical and plumbing lines, ideal for renovations. Compatible with diverse panels and appliances, it accommodates construction variances and ensures reliable delivery of tailored designs.
- Project Duration
- The project was launched in Jiaxing in April 2025, completed in October, and exhibited at the Yunguan Design Village.
- Operation Flow
- Modularity and a flexible storage system allow users to adjust shelf heights and add or remove accessories to fit their needs. The innovative panel free design integrates forms and functionality for intuitive use. Thoughtful details further enhance the experience, including optimized appliance layouts, unified trim lines, and coordinated edge colors. A standardized interface and installation system streamlines assembly, disassembly, maintenance, and upgrades for lasting convenience.
- Research
- Current home interiors often treat ceilings, walls, cabinets, and doors as separate systems, resulting in fragmented styling, isolated functions, and installation complexity. Addressing the demands for spatial unity, integrated utility, and customization, this project unifies all four into one cohesive system. It breaks down boundaries between components, optimizes the workflow from design to installation, improves spatial efficiency and user experience, and aligns with low carbon trends.
- Inspiration
- Drawing from the classic geometries of squares and circles, this design defines two complementary expressions. The square series embodies order and functionality, while the circle series reflects softness and dynamic rhythms. Each can stand alone or be combined, adapting to diverse spatial contexts. A unified color palette flows across ceilings, walls, cabinets, and doors, enhancing spatial cohesion. The system further offers a wide selection of finishes and materials to support varied tastes.
