About Sleeve Remote Work Kit
Sleeve is a remote work kit designed for travelers who work while on the go. The kit includes three modules that attach to a 13-inch laptop. The productivity module adds a touch display screen set in a milled aluminum cover with a 180-degree hinge, offering a second screen without a separate monitor. The comfort module lifts the laptop base by 50 millimeters for a more comfortable working angle. The organizing module provides elastic pockets, one of which holds a wireless charging system. Together the modules reduce the load carried during travel.

- Design Challenge
- Developing a product for the emerging work and vacation space posed several challenges. Firstly, the culture of digital nomads is relatively new, making it important to gain a clear understanding of the unique problems and perspectives within this space. Additionally, the challenge of balancing a seamless tech product with a vacation vibe required extensive research and creative ideation to create a product that meets these unique needs
- Project Duration
- This project was done in 2 months starting in March 2022 in San Francisco, Bay Area.
- Operation Flow
- Installing the Sleeve is easy - remove the tape and stick the modules to your laptop. Double-tap the touch display to turn it on and use it as a double screen monitor. For the comfort module, place your laptop on it and lift up the incline. For the organizing module, place things for organizing and on-the-go charging in the elastic pockets.
- Research
- I conducted a research study on the workcation experiences of 14 individuals and identified three primary challenges they faced: difficulty organizing work materials while traveling, discomfort when working in cafes not designed for work, and distraction caused by the vacation atmosphere. To address these issues, I examined existing solutions in these areas and used them as a basis for my own ideation.
- Inspiration
- Sleeve is a comprehensive workstation kit designed for travelers who work remotely. With the rise of remote work during the COVID-19 pandemic, there is an increasing number of travelers who work while on the go.
