About Royal One Private Club House

Royal One is a private club house designed for an owner who collects wine and hosts family and friends. The interior spans four floors above ground and one below, with a wine cellar, a restaurant, an underground barbecue room, a billiards room, an audio-visual room and bedrooms. Spaces are arranged around a circular hall, a form that reflects the idea of harmony. In the dining area, aluminium panels form overlapping circles of different sizes. A water droplet installation hangs above the centre of the hall, made of reflective material with built-in LED lighting.

Kris Lin's Royal One Private Club House presents an extraordinary meditation on the intersection of functional architecture and sculptural installation, positioning wine storage as the ceremonial heart of a luxury hospitality environment. The designer appears to draw upon traditions of the wine cathedral, those reverent spaces where viticulture meets spiritual contemplation, while translating this heritage through a distinctly contemporary parametric vocabulary that transforms utility into spectacle. The central ovoid installation demonstrates remarkable technical achievement in its integration of storage functionality with theatrical illumination, each tier precisely engineered to cradle bottles while simultaneously serving as a light-emitting element that contributes to the overall atmospheric program. The chromatic sophistication of the work merits particular attention, the deliberate graduation from warm earth tones in the lower hemisphere through to cool silvered illumination above creating a visual narrative that might suggest the transformation of raw materials into refined pleasure, or perhaps the ascent from terrestrial concerns toward more ethereal contemplation. The reflective floor plane amplifies the installation's presence through doubling, creating the impression that the spherical form continues below the walking surface into some mirrored realm, a device that expands the perceived scale while introducing metaphysical suggestions of worlds above and below. The flanking vertical wine displays establish a rhythmic counterpoint to the central sphere, their linear orientation and similar illumination treatment creating visual rhyme while their peripheral positioning reinforces the hierarchical primacy of the central installation. This interior invites consideration of how contemporary designers reconceive traditional typologies, transforming the utilitarian wine cellar into an immersive environment where aesthetic experience and functional purpose achieve seamless integration, and where the accumulated cultural associations of wine connoisseurship find expression through cutting-edge technological and spatial means.
