About Psync Camera Genie S Security Camera
Psync Camera Genie S is an indoor home security camera. The body is shaped with simple geometric forms, and the folding structure shows the current working state through direction and movement. The open box form allows the camera to be closed when not in use. The L-shaped head holds a compact camera module, forming a small dual-axis unit. Images are recorded at 2K resolution in a vertical full-screen format. The plastic body is injection molded, the lens is ground glass, and the shaft covers are machined metal.
The Psync Camera Genie S by DUO LI exemplifies the evolving intersection of domestic security technology and considered industrial design, representing a thoughtful departure from the utilitarian anonymity that has historically characterized surveillance equipment. This work participates in a broader contemporary movement seeking to harmonize functional electronic devices with refined residential interiors, drawing upon design lineages that trace through mid-century modernist principles of form following function while embracing the softer material sensibilities of current Nordic design philosophy. The distinctive elevated configuration, wherein the camera module rises above its base on an articulated arm, suggests both practical advantage in surveillance coverage and a sculptural aspiration that transforms necessary apparatus into an object worthy of visual consideration. Technical accomplishment manifests in the seamless integration of multiple functional elements: the precision-perforated speaker grille indicates audio capability, the warm-toned LED array promises effective illumination, and the prominent optical sensor at the composition's apex serves as the device's essential eye. The chromatic restraint, limiting the palette to variations of white and gray with strategic black and amber accents, demonstrates sophisticated understanding of how domestic objects may assert presence while maintaining visual quietude. - The Genie S is designed in homage to the Bauhaus and we emphasize more on the functional and practical abilities. Without complicated design, we use simple,clear geometrical forms to shape the body of the product, hoping it can perfectly serve the functions. We differentiate our product from competitors by innovating transformable design. The current working state can be easily checked due to the directional and deformation abilities, providing uses all-new experience. The L-shaped head section not only perfectly solves the problem of the views of camera,but also infuses a unique and vivid vitality into the product.The product body is made of plastic PC material and mold injection molding process. This process has high precision, can ensure consistency, and can be produced in large scale. The lens adopts glass grinding process, and the glass has high light transmittance and imaging ability. The covers at both ends of the shaft are made of metal CNC oxidation process to cover the transmission mechanism and enhance the quality of the product.
- Design Challenge
- Psync's goal is to create personalized experiences and change the way people interact with technology. Genie S should have a vivid personality and be a safe and reliable companion in people's lives. Psync hopes to provide users with a unique experience. Therefore, this project has done a lot of morphological research, and ultimately hopes to bring a very clear usage status to users through the product's deformation ability. Due to the standardized production of motors and cameras,the current home security cameras on the market have converged. The camera component re-developed by Psync is very small and can be placed on the L-shaped head area. The highly integrated mechanism design makes it the smallest dual-gimbal camera.
- Project Duration
- The project started in San Jose, USA, in December 2021, and completed all industrial design work in Beijing in October 2022. The first batch of mass production was completed in October 2023, and it will be sold on the official website of Psync in the United States in November 2023.

The concrete design of the brand concept uses the overall shape, curves,surfaces and detailed features to sort out a unique form of expression and form a unique design language. Computer-aided completion of three-dimensional surface modeling, simulation and component stacking of products. In order to meet the product form, self-developed camera modules include optical design, device selection, electronic material patching, etc. Mold design, complete the plastic mold simulation design and simulated molding of the product through computers. Thermal simulation, through computer-assisted thermal testing at full load power, ensures the continued stability of product operation.

The main principle behind smart cameras is to provide safe, convenient and intelligent monitoring services. By leveraging artificial intelligence, deep learning and image recognition technologies, they enable intelligent face recognition, behavioral analysis and real-time alerts. The idea is to provide round-the-clock monitoring and protection to ensure the safety of users by using the latest technological means. They are inspired by people's need for security and the constant pursuit of technology, and are committed to providing smarter and more efficient monitoring solutions.
