About Minmetals Platinum Counyard Sales Center
Minmetals Platinum Courtyard is a sales center interior located in Yingkou, China. The design takes the courtyard as its starting point and links natural scenery with the internal space. Four themed areas refer to the traditional arts of the zither, chess, calligraphy and painting. Traditional ink paintings, paper umbrellas, lanterns, relief work and bronze figures are used as decoration. A large bird shaped chandelier is formed from 128 round glass pieces joined with copper wire. Gray toned colors give the interior a calm and quiet character.
Sumay (Shenzhen) Design Co., Ltd.'s Minmetals Platinum Courtyard Sales Center represents a distinguished achievement in contemporary interior architecture that thoughtfully reinterprets traditional spatial philosophies through refined material expression and sophisticated compositional strategies. The design demonstrates exceptional sensitivity to cultural heritage while advancing a contemporary visual language, most notably through the central moon gate—a circular aperture historically associated with passage, transition, and the framing of contemplative views in classical garden architecture. This portal, rendered in elegant grey marble with subtle natural veining, creates a threshold experience that transforms a commercial function into an almost ceremonial encounter. The flanking walls of closely spaced vertical timber battens establish rhythm and enclosure while permitting glimpses of depth beyond, evoking the layered spatial sequences characteristic of traditional courtyard architecture. Technical accomplishment manifests in the seamless integration of the dramatically pitched ceiling structure with its triangular pediment and exposed rafters, referencing vernacular building traditions while the precision of contemporary fabrication ensures crisp geometries and immaculate joinery. The suspended chandelier, with its wire-like tendrils holding jade-colored glass elements, introduces organic asymmetry that counterpoints the rigorous architectural order, perhaps suggesting new growth emerging from established structure. The polished stone flooring creates a mirror-world that doubles spatial perception, lending the interior an almost metaphysical quality where solid and reflection engage in continuous dialogue. Viewers might contemplate how this space negotiates between honoring tradition and embracing innovation, between commercial purpose and contemplative experience.

- The Longting Courtyard perfectly interprets the charm and moral beauty of traditional Chinese culture, and is unique in all kinds of modern home styles. Combining indoor and outdoor elements, the four thematic spaces of qin, chess, calligraphy and painting are jointly created, and the design's visual effect and spiritual connotation are highly synchronized.

Bird headlamp: 128 pieces of glass are round, the diameter is less than 20 centimeters, connected with copper wire metal, combined into 3.3 meters wide, 7 meters long giant artistic bird chandelier, this spirit bird dives beautifully into the space. - Tags

- Although porcelain is used more often as material, the auspicious theme uses green flowers and trees, traditional ink paintings, and guqin, paper umbrellas, and lantern art bronze beasts.
The use of relief, paper-cut iron art, the preparation of lamps and other arts and crafts is present. Tea sets and piano sets are provided to facilitate the visitor's rest. For the choice of jewelry and sculpture, ingenuity can be seen everywhere. - Design Challenge
- Inheriting humanities and innovations. "The Riverside Scene at Qingming Festival" combines Chinese painting with modern art in the form of a three-dimensional sculpture of metal. The painting of the landscape of the mountain waters occupies the center of gravity of the space, depicting a vivid and lush elegance, presenting beauty of a form that is both inherited and independent of the times. Based on this, using the most natural posture to consolidate the eternality of time.
- Project Duration
- The project started in August 2018 in Yingkou and finished in October 2018 in Yingkou.
- Operation Flow
- After face-to-face communication between the designer and the customer, the deep-seated characteristics of the owner were understood, and the designer worked to understand the color relationship and color tone of the hard-packed site, and control the overall color of the soft-pack design. It was determined that the shades with higher gray scale are used to highlight the sense of high quality and is in-line with the traditional Chinese painting color.
- Research
- Located in the core area of China's coastal industrial base, with Chenghu Lake in the north and Liaodong Bay in the south. The location is excellent, transportation is convenient, planning is mature, and has good development prospects. In the fast-paced modern life, themes of the natural, pure land give an escape to the chaos. Our design creates a world where one cannot only enjoy the convenience of contemporary life, but also return to the true, return to the heart, and truly achieve tranquility of the soul.
- Inspiration
- Design inspiration comes from life experience. In today's fast-paced life, people are busy working and socializing outside. We hope we can enjoy a sense of tranquility and belonging when we get home. We can also experience the charm of Chinese landscape in the depths of Baiyun without going to the park.
