About Meet Purple Interior Design

Meet Purple is a residential interior design located in New Taipei City, Taiwan. The layout includes a foyer, an open living and dining area, a kitchen, a master suite, two secondary bedrooms and a study. A lavender palette shapes the dining and study areas, supported by gold and champagne gold accents. In the foyer, grilles and transparent glass replace solid walls, so light and shadow move between the rooms. Materials include iron detailing, SPC flooring, eco-friendly latex paint and glass. Ceiling trims add depth to the interior.

Chiun Ju interior design's Interior Design exemplifies contemporary residential planning where spatial openness and material refinement converge to create environments supporting both daily life and gracious entertaining, the work representing evolving domestic typologies that favor flowing interconnected zones over compartmentalized cellular planning, a spatial philosophy gaining prominence across residential architecture and interior design during the early twenty-first century as changing lifestyles increasingly value visual connectivity, flexible functionality, and seamless transitions between cooking, dining, and living activities within unified domestic realms. The compositional achievement evidenced throughout this interior demonstrates sophisticated command of proportion, scale, and rhythmic variation, the underlying spatial organization deploying subtle axiality and symmetrical anchoring gestures, particularly visible in the tripartite rear wall treatment where classical proportional logic governing panel relationships and vertical emphasis creates formal stability and visual repose, while asymmetrical furnishing arrangements and organic sculptural elements introduce dynamic counterpoint preventing rigidity or excessive formality. The chromatic accomplishment merits particular attention, the restrained neutral palette of warm beiges, cool grays, and soft whites establishing a flexible backdrop receptive to varied lighting conditions and seasonal decorative adjustments, this achromatic foundation punctuated strategically with powder blue and sage green accents that introduce chromatic vitality without overwhelming the serene environmental character, the disciplined color editing reflecting sophisticated understanding of how limited palettes can amplify spatial perception and material presence rather than diminishing visual interest. Material selections demonstrate discerning attention to surface quality and tactile variation, the interplay between polished stone, matte wood, lustrous metals, napped textiles, and transparent glass creating rich sensory vocabulary that rewards both visual appreciation and haptic engagement, each material contributing distinct reflective properties, textural character, and associative resonance, from the organic warmth of natural wood flooring grounding the composition to the precious luminosity of brass metalwork elevating perceptual refinement. The lighting design, both natural and artificial, appears carefully orchestrated to maintain consistent ambient illumination while introducing focal accents, the biomorphic chandelier functioning simultaneously as sculptural centerpiece and functional light source, its multiple diffused globes distributing gentle radiance across surrounding surfaces without harsh shadows or glare, complemented by natural daylight filtered through layered window treatments that modulate exterior brightness into softened interior luminosity supporting comfortable visual tasks and relaxed social interaction. The spatial sequence from foreground intimacy toward background functionality creates narrative progression inviting viewer imagination to complete the domestic story suggested by visible fragments, the partially revealed kitchen and dining zones hinting at culinary preparation and convivial gathering extending beyond the living area's contemplative repose, this layered revelation of program and activity zones contributing to the composition's sense of inhabited authenticity rather than staged perfection. The work engages longstanding interior design traditions valuing symmetry, proportion, and material quality while incorporating contemporary preferences for openness, casual elegance, and understated luxury, the neoclassical molding details and paneled wall treatments acknowledging decorative heritage even as sleek handleless cabinetry and minimalist furnishing silhouettes signal current aesthetic sensibilities, this temporal layering creating design richness that transcends singular stylistic categorization. One might observe how the interior invites contemplation of domestic space as canvas for daily rituals and meaningful occupation, the careful curation of furnishings, finishes, and fixtures suggesting inhabitants who value aesthetic consideration as integral to lived experience rather than superficial decoration, the environment balancing functional pragmatism with sensory pleasure in ways that honor both practical necessity and human desire for beauty, comfort, and visual harmony within the intimate realm of home.

Unique Properties
This design reimagines American style with a gentle and romantic ambiance. A dreamy lavender palette enhances the dining and study areas, creating an elegant contrast with carefully selected materials. The foyer stands out with its grille accents and transparent glass, replacing traditional solid walls to establish a seamless spatial flow through light and shadow. Additionally, well-proportioned ceiling trims add depth and sophistication, ensuring a space that is both architecturally refined and visually engaging.
Dimensions & Packaging
This 1157 square meter project features a three plus one bedroom layout, including an inviting foyer, an open-concept living and dining area, a well-appointed kitchen, a master suite, two secondary bedrooms, and a dedicated study. The original partitioned dressing area in the master suite limited its functionality. To improve spatial efficiency, the design team removed the solid divider, repositioned the bed to align with Feng Shui principles, and optimized circulation flow. The overall layout follows ergonomic and structural principles, ensuring a seamless blend of comfort and practicality.

Production Technology
This project seamlessly integrates precision craftsmanship with material innovation, achieving a perfect balance between aesthetics and functionality. Key elements such as iron detailing, refined trims, SPC flooring, and eco-friendly latex paint are thoughtfully combined with various glass applications to enhance spatial fluidity. Advanced joinery techniques ensure flawless cabinetry, while custom metal grilles introduce structural rhythm. Additionally, the strategic use of light, reflection, and translucency deepens spatial perception, reinforcing a modern yet inviting atmosphere.
Design Challenge
One of the greatest challenges was addressing the client's past negative renovation experience. The design team dedicated significant time to in-depth communication and trust-building to ensure their concerns were fully understood and alleviated. Another obstacle was the spatial limitation, as the initial layout did not accommodate a bar area. Through on-site evaluations and strategic reconfiguration, the team optimized the underutilized guest bathroom space, seamlessly transforming it into a functional yet elegant bar that perfectly aligned with the client's vision.
Project Duration
Xinzhuang District, New Taipei City, Taiwan.
Operation Flow
Upon completion, the homeowners were thrilled with the transformation. While inspired by American style, the design creates a romantic ambiance uniquely tailored to the couple's lifestyle. The living, dining, and study areas provide a serene retreat, perfect for relaxing with tea, books, and music. A thoughtfully planned spatial flow enhances daily interactions, fostering both comfort and connection. Their deep satisfaction led them to recommend the design team to family and friends, appreciating the home's harmonious composition and timeless elegance.
Research
This project is based on sustainable design research, focusing on creating an eco-friendly and user-centered living environment. The methodology includes material analysis, environmental impact assessment, and ergonomic studies. Data was collected through on-site evaluations and client feedback to ensure optimal ventilation, lighting, and overall comfort. Findings indicate that F1-grade SPC flooring and eco-friendly latex paint significantly enhance indoor air quality while reducing maintenance costs. These insights contribute to the advancement of sustainable interior design, benefiting both the environment and the well-being of occupants.
Inspiration
The project draws inspiration from the graceful elegance of American interiors, subtly infused with British design influences. The client sought a sophisticated yet relaxed ambiance, moving away from traditional elements such as trims and frames. Through continuous dialogue and keen observation, the design team meticulously shaped a space that reflects the client’s vision. Gold and champagne gold accents enhance the refined atmosphere, while each area is thoughtfully arranged to complement daily routines and functional requirements.
