About Mansion of Value Club

Mansion of Value is a private clubhouse interior designed for social gatherings. The space covers 4000 square meters across three floors. The design is inspired by the New York Waldorf Astoria and reinterprets classical proportion and symmetry. Art Deco geometry, handcrafted detailing and layered lighting shape a ceremonial atmosphere. Materials include large jade slabs, natural stone, crystal, metal mesh and mother of pearl inlays. Visitors move from a grand foyer to exhibition areas and private dining rooms.

Within the distinguished tradition of grand hospitality interiors that draw upon early twentieth-century decorative arts movements while embracing contemporary sensibilities, Matrix Design's Mansion of Value Club achieves a remarkable synthesis of monumental architectural presence and intimate human-scaled comfort. The design demonstrates sophisticated engagement with Art Deco formal vocabularies, evident in the stepped geometric relief patterns adorning the towering pilasters, the elegant lattice screen serving as a luminous backdrop, and the carefully considered integration of decorative metalwork within the soaring barrel-vaulted skylight that crowns the space. The chromatic strategy reveals particular accomplishment in its restraint, establishing a warm neutral foundation of ivory and cream tones that allows the spectacular autumnal botanical arrangements to emerge as living sculptural elements introducing vital organic color and form into the otherwise architecturally defined environment. Technical facility appears throughout in the precise execution of architectural details, the thoughtful layering of lighting conditions combining natural zenithal illumination with warm artificial accents, and the careful curation of furnishings that balance historical references with contemporary comfort. The seating arrangement demonstrates intelligent spatial planning, creating multiple conversation groupings within the grand volume while maintaining clear circulation paths and sight lines toward the central focal console. The incorporation of chinoiserie-influenced decorative panels and collected objects suggests an environment of cultivated cosmopolitan taste, where historical decorative traditions from multiple cultures coexist harmoniously within a coherent contemporary vision. The floor treatment, with its geometric marble pattern, provides grounding for the vertical architectural ambitions while subtly guiding movement through the space. One might observe how the design successfully navigates the challenge inherent in monumental hospitality spaces, achieving grandeur without coldness, formality without rigidity, and historical reference without pastiche. What qualities of spatial experience does this interior invite its visitors to discover?

Production Technology
Realization involved CNC precision cutting, large-format jade stone sourcing, laser alignment of floor and ceiling, and hand forged mother of pearl inlays. GRC and metal mesh structures, natural stone, and crystal were combined with eco certified furniture materials and flame retardant finishes.
Design Challenge
Key challenges included translating classical motifs into modern functions, aligning marble inlays with skylights, and sourcing rare jade stone under tight timelines. The project also balanced regulatory demands with artistic aspirations, requiring cross disciplinary coordination and adaptive fabrication.
Project Duration
The project started in April 2024 in Sichuan, China and finished in December 2024.
Operation Flow
Visitors experience a curated journey from grand foyer to exhibition spaces and private dining. Spatial symmetry, layered lighting, and artistic elements guide movement while creating emotional impact. Art installations and textures invite contemplation and enhance social engagement.
Research
This project combined typological research on luxury hospitality spaces with material experiments and user interviews. Objectives included emotional resonance, spatial dignity, and brand expression. Results confirmed that classical elements foster stronger user identification and elevate perceived space value.
Inspiration
The design is inspired by the legacy and spatial grandeur of the Waldorf Astoria. Its aim is to reinterpret classical proportion, symmetry, and ritualistic beauty through a modern lens, creating a space that symbolizes status, heritage, and refined lifestyle for today's elite communities.
