About M1 AI Series Robotic Pool Cleaner
M1 AI Series is a robotic pool cleaner designed for extended autonomous cleaning, with a runtime of up to 16 hours. Unlike cleaners that navigate blindly, the M1 AI Series uses Biomimetic Dual AI Vision and a Quad Core Neural Engine for three-dimensional spatial awareness and active debris targeting. A composite Dual Grip Traction System supports stable wall climbing. A sonar-activated waterline return lets users tap the water surface to call the robot to the pool edge for easy retrieval. The design aims to make pool maintenance hands-free for up to 30 days.
The M1 AI Series Robotic Pool Cleaner by iGarden positions itself within the evolving tradition of autonomous domestic maintenance technology where engineering necessity meets considered aesthetic expression, participating in the broader cultural shift toward intelligent systems that enhance leisure environments through unobtrusive yet visually confident mechanical assistance. This achievement demonstrates sophisticated integration of functional requirements with sculptural presence, the design team having resolved complex technical constraints including hydrodynamic efficiency, traction optimization, sensor housing, and internal component packaging within a unified formal language that communicates capability through shape alone. The chromatic strategy proves particularly successful in establishing immediate visual recognition and category distinction, the bold scarlet housing departing from conventional utilitarian grays and blues to assert personality and premium positioning while the black accents provide technical credibility and visual grounding, the color relationship generating sufficient contrast for immediate spatial comprehension even in challenging aquatic viewing conditions with refraction and surface movement. Compositionally, the design achieves dynamic equilibrium through horizontal extension and bilateral near-symmetry, the streamlined profile suggesting forward directionality and purposeful movement while generous curves and radiused transitions soften mechanical hardness into approachable organic presence, the substantial wheel assemblies functioning as both practical locomotion systems and powerful compositional anchors that frame and balance the central body mass. Technical merit appears evident in the resolution of edge conditions where disparate materials and components meet, the seamless integration of sensor arrays within sculptural housing, and the articulation of functional ventilation elements as contributing design features rather than afterthought necessities. The formal vocabulary evokes biological organisms particularly aquatic creatures with armored carapaces, suggesting through visual metaphor the design's natural fitness for underwater operation while biomimetic streamlining implies hydrodynamic intelligence beyond mere aesthetic borrowing. Surface treatment demonstrates understanding of material behavior and user interaction, the matte-to-satin finish spectrum reducing glare while maintaining color saturation and richness, textured tread patterns providing visual interest and suggesting mechanical grip, smooth upper surfaces facilitating cleaning and maintenance. This work invites consideration of how utilitarian domestic objects increasingly serve as visible expressions of household values around efficiency, environmental stewardship through reduced chemical dependence, and the integration of advanced technology into daily life, the design successfully navigating between technical transparency that honestly communicates function and aesthetic refinement that elevates the object beyond pure instrumentality into considered presence, one might observe how such maintenance devices when executed with design intentionality transform from hidden service equipment into legitimate participants in curated living environments, their presence accepted or even celebrated rather than concealed.

- Production Technology
- The core features a hydrodynamic polymer body housing a high-density lithium-ion battery and AI-Inverter system. Environmental perception relies on two optical lenses and a 4K image processing unit connected to a 6 TOPS neural engine. The chassis uses a composite drive architecture of four wheels and slim tracks. The Dual Force Flow System uses twin pumps for massive suction. An internal acoustic sonar module detects water surface taps to trigger the automatic waterline return sequence.
- Design Challenge
- The core engineering challenge was integrating automotive-grade 3D vision underwater without consuming massive battery power. Typical optical sensors fail in low light or cloudy pool water. We overcame this by developing an adaptive dual-camera system with a 4K image processor and a 6 TOPS neural engine for dynamic mapping. An external challenge was physical retrieval logistics; we engineered an acoustic sonar module that filters ambient wave noise to ensure reliable water-tap detection.
- Project Duration
- The project commenced in January 2024 in Shenzhen, China, with the final production model completed in December 2025. The product will be officially exhibited globally at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, United States, in January 2026. Global distributor and independent website sales initiate in April 2026. Retail availability across major e-commerce platforms in North America and Europe fully begins in May 2026 to align perfectly with the peak summer usage season.
- Operation Flow
- Daily operation is entirely wire-free and highly intuitive. Users just drop the robot into the pool and the smart system maps the environment autonomously. Dual cameras precisely identify debris and dynamically adjust suction. It climbs walls effortlessly and navigates shallow water steps easily. When cleaning finishes or charging is needed, users simply tap the water surface. The sonar detects the acoustic wave and commands the robot to climb to the nearest waterline for easy retrieval.
- Research
- We conducted global field research to evaluate pool maintenance pain points. Testing with 50 pool-owning families revealed that current robots clean randomly, miss spots, and are too heavy to retrieve manually from deep water. Users demanded a zero-rescue solution. This insight drove our dual vision navigation and sonar recall innovations. By actively targeting debris and operating for up to 16 hours, it multiplies cleaning efficiency by 10 times, making backyard maintenance effortless.
- Inspiration
- Inspiration stems directly from the frustrations of pool owners. Traditional cleaners navigate blindly, get stuck constantly, lack battery endurance, and are extremely heavy to lift from deep water. Guided by our Artful Living Technology philosophy, we envisioned a zero-intervention ecosystem. We gave the robot true 3D sight via dual cameras to eliminate missed spots, and engineered an acoustic sonar recall function so the machine proactively comes to the user, ending manual rescues.
