About K House Interior Design
K House is a residential interior design project located in Bodrum, on the coast of Turkey. The home covers a total enclosed area of 700 square meters and includes open plan living areas, private rooms and direct connections to outdoor terraces. Natural oak, stone cladding, textured wall finishes and linen fabrics form the material palette. Curved organic shapes and custom made furniture support a consistent character across the spaces. Wide openings bring daylight inside and link the interior with the surrounding landscape. The interior was completed in five months.
PIU INTERIORS's K House Interior Design exemplifies the sophisticated trajectory of contemporary residential practice wherein spatial generosity serves not merely functional accommodation but the cultivation of contemplative dwelling, the design team demonstrating remarkable sensitivity to the phenomenological experience of inhabitation through their orchestration of material, light, and prospect. The architectural envelope establishes a warm embrace through the continuous application of honey-toned oak millwork that wraps walls and ceiling coffer alike, creating visual coherence while the vertical wood grain imparts subtle rhythm to otherwise planar surfaces. This material warmth finds compelling counterpoint in the cool chromatic intervention of the sculptural wall piece, whose undulating topographical form suggests aerial landscape or cellular biology, introducing organic unpredictability within the controlled geometric framework. The furniture arrangement manifests sophisticated understanding of social choreography, with the L-shaped sectional establishing primary gathering while the paired armchairs create secondary intimate conversation, the entire ensemble oriented toward the spectacular transparent wall that frames garden, water, and distant hillside as living artwork. One observes the careful calibration of chromatic temperature throughout: warm wood tones advancing, cool upholstery fabrics receding, the sage armchairs mediating between earth and sky reflected through the glazing. The design achieves that elusive quality wherein luxury emerges not from ostentation but from material authenticity, spatial proportion, and the cultivation of meaningful relationships between inhabitants and their environment, inviting viewers to consider how domestic space might nurture both solitude and gathering, prospect and refuge.

- The realization of the project combined modern construction methods with artisanal craftsmanship. Local artisans contributed to bespoke furniture and handcrafted finishes, ensuring authenticity and uniqueness. Natural oak wood, textured wall coverings, natural stone claddings, and linen textiles were carefully sourced and applied with precision detailing. - Design Challenge
- One of the key challenges was to procure the monoblock travertine mass for the Tv wall and ensuring its safe installation and structural support on the wall.
The second challenge involved the logistics of transporting all furniture, materials, and custom pieces from Istanbul to Bodrum. This required careful scheduling and precise coordination among multiple teams, ensuring that the quality and timeline of the project were never compromised. - Project Duration

Each zone for relaxation, dining, or gathering was designed to encourage interaction while also allowing moments of solitude and calm.
- Research
- The project was informed by in-depth research into Mediterranean living traditions, biophilic design principles, and contemporary approaches to luxury. Local climate conditions were carefully studied to integrate natural ventilation and light while ensuring year-round comfort.
