About Jinzhong Kylin Mansion Club

Jinzhong Kylin Mansion is a club interior located in Shenzhen. The project covers 650 square meters and follows the principle that less is more. Bright colors and complex elements are avoided, and restrained furniture with smooth lines shapes a calm atmosphere. The layout includes a tea room, a fitness area, a party house, a book bar and a meditation area, which uses white tones and open separations. Rough black stone surfaces are combined with titanium plated stainless steel to contrast hard and soft materials. Water ripples carved into marble link traditional craft with modern art.

Yang Yuan's Jinzhong Kylin Mansion Club presents a masterful synthesis of contemporary design principles with subtle references to contemplative spatial traditions, creating an interior environment that functions simultaneously as social gathering space and meditative sanctuary. The designer demonstrates exceptional command of material dialogue, orchestrating the warm resonance of vertically oriented timber cladding against cool mineral surfaces and the organic softness of upholstered seating to achieve a harmonious whole that transcends mere decorative arrangement. The compositional intelligence evident in the work reveals itself through careful calibration of scale relationships, with the double-height volume establishing grandeur while intimate seating configurations maintain human approachability, a tension resolved through the transitional element of the central zen garden that grounds the space metaphorically and literally. The chromatic strategy employs a sophisticated analogous palette ranging from cream through amber to cognac, unified by the pervading warmth of natural wood tones while achieving visual interest through temperature contrast with the cool grey abstract canvas and the verdant moss arrangement. Technical accomplishment manifests in the precise joinery of the timber cladding, the seamless integration of recessed lighting within architectural reveals, and the considered proportional relationships between furniture groupings and the architectural envelope. Thematic resonance emerges through the work's meditation on thresholds between interior sanctuary and exterior world, nature and artifice, social engagement and contemplative withdrawal, these dualities resolved rather than opposed through thoughtful design synthesis. The inclusion of living plant elements, from the delicate orchid procession to the miniature landscape garden, suggests an understanding of biophilic principles wherein human wellbeing connects inextricably to natural presence. Viewers might contemplate how spatial design shapes social interaction, how material choices communicate cultural values, and how the boundary between architectural container and inhabited experience dissolves in thoughtfully conceived environments.

Unique Properties
Jinzhong Kylin Mansion Club is located in Shenzhen. It can be said that the environment is superior. According to the regional characteristics and under the dominant atmosphere of modernism, the designer uses the design language to have a dialogue with the space, and then interprets the visual, tactile and spiritual resonance, and reappears the humanistic landscape pattern of "in a busy city, the heart lives in a paradise.".
Dimensions & Packaging
The project covers a total of 650 square meters. On the basis of meeting the functional requirements, the designer always follows the golden rule of "less is more". There is no gorgeous color to render, nor complex elements to stack, so that the design returns to the pure essence. The restrained furniture is presented by smooth lines, thus creating a natural and comfortable space atmosphere.

Production Technology
The original rough black stone skin and exquisite titanium plated stainless steel show the diversified shapes of materials, and the layers are very different. The combination of hardness and softness sets off the elegance of urban literati, creates a calm and quiet atmosphere, and firmly expresses the aesthetic attitude of modern East.
Design Challenge
The meditation area focuses on highlighting the virtual reality and mobility of space. The white tone is used as the base, and the functional layout is presented in the invisible separation, with a very specific sense of block and visual tension. The water ripples carved on the marble are the art of time solidification, the combination of ancient traditional culture and modern art, the embodiment of delicacy and implicitness of Oriental people, and the integration of thoughts, feelings and art.
Project Duration
The project started in October 2018 in Shenzhen and finished in June 2019 in Shenzhen.
Operation Flow
Under the tree shadow's whirling smallpox, you can place a transparent table with brilliant lights, put on the Heart Sutra copied by hand, for people to meditate.
Research
With the development of society, people pay more and more attention to the fit of self spirit in the exploration of commercial space structure in addition to the practical use. From the perspective of modern design, combined with soft colors and natural texture, the book bar has been transformed into a carrier of functionality and artistry, and given a different personality of space, while leaving enough aftertaste.
Inspiration
The tea room area is called "Matsuzaka", which is taken from Wang Wei's poem "the bright moon shines among the pines, and the clear spring stone flows upward". The theme of the fitness area of the lobby is "forest jogging". Party house adopts a grand and uninhibited way of splashing ink painting, centering on the theme of "stone rhyme", to set off the poetic and natural atmosphere of space.
