About Industrial Bank of China Bank Commercial Space
Industrial Bank of China is an interior design for a bank branch covering 1680 square meters. The space is divided into three zones: a lobby service area, a business transaction area, and a VIP area. Universal service counters stand at the front, while teller and advisor workstations are placed in back office zones. Smart guidance, queuing systems, and digital displays support the service flow. Dedicated areas serve seniors, visitors with limited mobility, and children. Low VOC paints, reclaimed wood, recyclable metals, and prefabricated modules are used.
Within the evolving tradition of contemporary commercial interior design, Scene Aesthetics Design Co., Ltd's Bank Commercial Space represents a thoughtful meditation on the transformation of financial service environments from imposing institutional fortresses to welcoming civic spaces that honor both operational efficiency and human comfort. The design appears to engage with broader currents in hospitality-influenced commercial architecture, where the phenomenological experience of the visitor assumes equal importance to functional transaction processing. The double-height volume creates what might be understood as a secular cathedral of commerce, its generous vertical proportions elevating routine financial transactions into experiences of spatial generosity. The chromatic strategy demonstrates considerable sophistication, employing a warm neutral envelope that suggests neither the cold sterility of clinical modernism nor the overwrought opulence of traditional banking halls, but rather a measured contemporary elegance that communicates trustworthiness through visual clarity. The furniture selection reveals particular attention to psychological comfort, with organically curved seating forms that soften the orthogonal architectural container and invite extended consultation rather than hurried transaction. One observes how the blue accent color, traditionally associated with stability, trust, and institutional reliability in chromatic psychology, appears strategically deployed at points of human interaction, perhaps suggesting that technological interfaces and comfortable seating represent the primary touchpoints of contemporary banking experience. The integration of natural wood tones across the floor plane introduces biophilic warmth that grounds the otherwise ethereal white volumes in earthly materiality. Viewers might consider how such spaces negotiate the tension between institutional authority and approachable hospitality, and what this evolution suggests about changing relationships between financial institutions and the communities they serve.

Electronic screens and interactive digital signage replace printed materials, enabling content updates without using paper. Counters, seating, and other high contact surfaces use finishes that resist stains, withstand wear, and clean easily, helping to extend the service life.
- Design Challenge
- The challenge lies in creating an immersive financial environment where service flow is visible, client needs are understood, and brand value is felt.
