Grand Interview about Inair AR Spatial Computer

Traditional AR headsets often rely on free-form waveguides or complex prism assemblies, resulting in bulky size, intricate assembly, and limited everyday usability.Inair adopts a BirdBath optical architecture that folds the light path into an ultra-short trajectory, reducing the display module’s structural thickness by approximately 40% and achieving an overall weight reduction of about 85% compared to mainstream headsets. This design maintains a wide field of view and high visual clarity while keeping the total device weight under 77 grams. Its key advantages—compact size, lightweight balance, stable assembly, and minimal facial occlusion—enable true eyewear-level portability, allowing users to engage in spatial computing as naturally as wearing a pair of glasses.

Inair’s multimodal AI recognition system is built upon a multi-sensor architecture that integrates microphone arrays, eye-tracking modules, gyroscopes, and motion sensors to continuously capture diverse signals such as voice, gaze, gestures, and spatial orientation. These inputs are processed locally through encrypted edge computing, then fused and analyzed by cloud-based AI models to interpret user intent, attention, and situational context with precision.Based on this architecture, the system delivers four essential capabilities: • Voice understanding: natural-language recognition and contextual reasoning for semantic-level dialogue and command control; • Environmental sensing: adaptive brightness and electrochromic lens transparency adjustment in response to both virtual content and real-world lighting; • Content recognition: intelligent detection of documents or videos being viewed, proactively providing summaries, translations, or supplementary materials; • Visual enhancement: AI-driven depth reconstruction that transforms 2D imagery into immersive, real-time 3D presentation.Unlike conventional devices that merely respond to inputs, Inair’s AI actively learns and adapts to each user’s rhythm and cognitive pattern—optimizing focus and information flow across multitasking, reading, and conferencing scenarios. It transforms spatial computing from a complex tool into a natural companion—reducing cognitive friction, extending perception and imagination, and allowing technology to harmonize with human attention and creativity.

In industries such as finance and IT, where information density and multitasking demands are exceptionally high, traditional dual-monitor setups often restrict workspace efficiency and focus—particularly in remote environments. The Inair AR Spatial Computer redefines this experience through a systematic spatial layout and adaptive workspace management, delivering three key advantages: • Efficiency (Portable Multiscreen): Within a 9-meter spatial depth, users can open up to six virtual screens simultaneously—controlled via gesture, voice, or gaze—creating a fully portable multi-display workstation for analysis, conferencing, and development. • Connectivity (Cross-Platform Ecosystem): Seamlessly connects with PCs, Macs, Android phones, and iPhones, enabling cloud-synchronized app states and file continuity for uninterrupted workflow across locations. • Privacy & Security: Equipped with fingerprint authentication and visual privacy protection, ensuring sensitive content remains visible only to the user while maintaining enterprise-grade data isolation in multitasking environments.AI algorithms continuously adapt to individual working patterns, dynamically optimizing focus and spatial arrangement so that critical information remains within the user’s natural field of view. This design elevates remote work from a constrained desktop experience to a personal spatial workspace—merging efficiency, security, and seamless connectivity into a single, human-centered computing environment.

The ergonomic design of Inair AR Spatial Computer stems from a systematic study on long-term wearing comfort. Our team collected and analyzed 3D head and facial data from users across different regions to define optimal parameters for pressure distribution, weight balance, and fit.Every structural and material decision was guided by human-centered principles: • Flexible composite temples that evenly distribute pressure and maintain balance during wear; • Skin-friendly silicone materials on both temples and nose pads to minimize friction and discomfort; • Three-stage adjustable temple angles allowing personalized fit for various head shapes; • Interchangeable nose pads in three height options for enhanced support and stability; • SGS-certified eye protection display, reducing blue light and visual fatigue.Together, these elements create a device that still looks and feels like a pair of glasses—familiar, approachable, and seamlessly integrated into daily life.We believe technology should align with human experience, disappearing into comfort and becoming an effortless extension of the body and mind, enabling longer, freer, and more creative engagement.

In spatial computing design, balancing performance, lightness, and thermal efficiency remains one of the greatest engineering challenges. The Inair team overcame this through a modular system architecture, enabling high performance without compromising comfort. We offloaded the primary processing and battery modules to an external controller (Inair Pod), which connects to the glasses via a high-speed data link. This configuration removes major heat sources and battery weight from the head, drastically reducing thermal buildup while maintaining desktop-level computing power in a device that weighs only 77 grams. For on-device thermal management, the glasses employ a dual-layer cooling system combining a magnesium–aluminum alloy frame with a graphene heat-dissipation film, evenly channeling heat along the temples. At the software level, adaptive task scheduling redistributes intensive AI workloads to the cloud or controller when local temperature thresholds are reached.A unified aesthetic integrates all components seamlessly within the frame proportions, allowing technology to “disappear into design.”Thus, Inair achieves a rare equilibrium—where power meets elegance, and computation becomes effortless.

The spatial touch keyboard and haptic feedback system in Inair stem from a systematic exploration of how input and feedback interact within virtual workspaces. Our research revealed that in spatial environments, users expect not just a tap, but a coordinated confirmation across vision, sound, and touch. To achieve this, Inair developed a multimodal interaction system that integrates touch, gesture, and voice input with synchronized visual, auditory, and haptic feedback.Using 3D hand-tracking and depth-sensing algorithms, the system projects a virtual keyboard in midair—where fingertip contact triggers instantaneous vibration via micro linear actuators, accompanied by synchronized visuals and sound.Voice input and gesture control allow seamless transitions between text entry, commands, and workspace management, creating a fluid and natural workflow.By unifying input and feedback, Inair enhances both productivity and immersion in virtual workspaces—allowing users to think and create intuitively, where space itself becomes the interface.

Our workspace research revealed that screen size and productivity do not follow a simple linear relationship. While a broader field of view improves multitasking and visual flow, exceeding the comfort threshold can actually lead to attention fragmentation and visual fatigue.Guided by this insight, Inair developed the Virtual Surround Screen feature, enabling users to arrange multiple applications naturally within spatial depth. The system dynamically adjusts each window’s angle, distance, and depth layer based on gaze direction and task priority—bringing core content into focus while positioning secondary tasks around the periphery for quick access without distraction. This human-centered spatial layout mirrors how people naturally manage focus in the real world.By freeing users from the physical constraints of traditional monitors, Inair allows information to surround rather than overwhelm—turning the workspace into an adaptive environment that enhances attention, flow, and creativity.

AI has become ubiquitous in modern work environments—but ubiquity does not equal naturalness.Traditional AI lives inside browsers and chat windows. It can answer questions, yet it rarely participates in the flow of work; it exists outside the user’s thought process, not within it.Inair redefines this relationship through the AI Button—an ever-present intelligence node integrated seamlessly along the periphery of every spatial application.Rather than existing as a separate app, it lives inside the workspace itself. When users need to summarize, translate, or generate content, a simple gesture or gaze instantly activates AI collaboration in context, without breaking focus. The system supports multimodal activation through voice, gesture, and gaze, and uses contextual inference to understand user intent and deliver relevant assistance in real time.Through this “always-present” design, AI evolves from a passive responder into an active cognitive partner—one that blends with attention instead of interrupting it.The AI Button brings intelligence into the spatial layer of work—no longer summoned, but always in sync with human creativity.

When designing Inair’s cross-device experience, our guiding principle was clear:do not challenge what users already know—extend it, naturally, into space.People already live within a mature multi-device ecosystem: computers for deep work, phones for communication, tablets for exploration.Inair doesn’t aim to replace these behaviors, but to make them co-exist within a single spatial context. The goal of spatial design is not to add another device, but to let all devices converse through space. Our design philosophy centers on continuity rather than disruption: • Visually, familiar icons, windows, and hierarchies are preserved, now enhanced with spatial depth; • Interactively, users maintain their habitual gestures and commands, enriched by gaze, hand, and voice integration; • Cognitively, when switching devices, users remain in the same workspace—files, focus, and context persist seamlessly. We believe the power of spatial computing lies not in reinvention, but in returning interaction to intuition. When device boundaries dissolve, users no longer sense transitions—they simply remain within a continuous environment of thought.Space becomes not a backdrop, but an extension of cognition, bringing more freedom without additional effort. At its heart, Inair’s design is not technology-centric but human-centric.We want users to feel entirely at home the moment they put it on—only now, their workspace has expanded into space itself.

We believe that spatial computing will define the future of mobile work and professional creativity. Its true purpose is not to invent another device, but to redefine how humans connect—with information, with the physical world, and with each other. The Inair Spatial Computing platform is not merely a tool, but a new layer of connection. It begins by linking humans with the digital world—where information naturally surrounds the user instead of living behind screens. It then extends to the physical world, allowing people to perceive, interpret, and interact with their environment through spatial understanding. And ultimately, it connects humans to one another—with presence and awareness that transcend distance and medium. This vision transforms work and creation into a fluid, borderless experience.Spatial computing will make thinking, expression, and collaboration more natural, immersive, and embodied. Our long-term ambition for Inair is to serve as the foundation for this continuum—a spatial operating system where humans coexist seamlessly with the digital, the physical, and each other.Space is no longer where we are; it’s how we connect, think, and create.
