About Fitpluse Multifunctional Wristband

Fitpluse is a multifunctional wristband designed for health tracking and self-powered use. The wristband combines solar energy storage, biofilm power generation and kinetic energy storage, so energy is collected from natural light, small amounts of body energy and movement. Exercise data is recorded with high precision, and physiological indicators are monitored in real time with warnings for abnormal conditions. A touch screen, gesture control and magnetic charging simplify daily use. Data is synchronised with a mobile application over Bluetooth.

KE XU and JING ZHANG's Fitpluse Multifunctional Wristband emerges from the contemporary discourse surrounding wearable health technologies, positioning itself within the expanding design territory where personal wellness monitoring intersects with everyday accessories and continuous biometric data collection becomes seamlessly integrated into daily life rhythms. This work participates in the broader design movement toward ambient, unobtrusive health awareness tools that replace episodic clinical measurement with continuous personal insight, reflecting evolving cultural attitudes toward preventative health management, quantified self-practices, and the democratization of physiological data previously accessible only through medical institutions. The compositional sophistication evident in this presentation demonstrates thoughtful consideration of visual hierarchy and narrative clarity, the dual-device arrangement suggesting both individual product integrity and ecosystem completeness, while the carefully controlled chromatic palette establishes immediate legibility and contemporary design authority. The formal execution reveals considerable technical accomplishment in the resolution of competing demands inherent to wearable device design: the displays achieve sufficient size for comfortable data reading while the overall proportions maintain wearability across diverse wrist dimensions, the band perforations balance ventilation requirements with structural integrity, and the material selections negotiate the challenging territory between durability demands and skin-contact comfort requirements. The interface design visible on both screens demonstrates clarity in information hierarchy, with the cyan accent color serving multiple simultaneous functions as attention director, brand signature, and visual energy point within otherwise neutral presentations. The buckle closure system, glimpsed in the band undersides, suggests attention to adjustment range and secure retention without sacrificing donning and doffing ease. Thematically, this design invites contemplation of how personal health data visualization might be rendered both informative and aesthetically pleasing, how wearable technologies might transition from purely utilitarian medical devices toward objects that integrate gracefully with personal style and self-presentation, and how industrial design language might communicate technological capability while maintaining approachable, human-scaled warmth. The work suggests engagement with questions of technology's proper role in daily wellness practices, the balance between data abundance and insight clarity, and the aesthetic vocabulary appropriate for devices meant to accompany users through diverse contexts from athletic activity to professional settings to intimate rest. One might consider how the design choices evident here reflect or shape evolving relationships between individuals and their physiological data, how form language communicates trustworthiness and precision in health-adjacent technologies, and what aesthetic strategies allow technical devices to feel like welcome companions rather than intrusive monitors.

Production Technology
Optimise the charging experience and explore more efficient and convenient charging methods, such as wireless fast charging, solar charging with kinetic energy recovery, etc., to reduce users' reliance on power. Improve the accuracy and comprehensiveness of health monitoring, introduce new biometric technology, AI algorithms, etc., to provide users with more personalised health management and early warning services. Focus on user interaction design, simplify the operation process, and improve the friendliness and aesthetics of the APP interface to ensure that users can easily get started and enjoy the process.
Design Challenge
Diversity of user needs: Everyone in society has their own unique habits and needs, how to ensure that the product meets the needs of the majority of people and at the same time provides enough room for personalisation is a major challenge for the design team to face.
Privacy and data security: As more and more data is collected by the wristband, how to ensure that the user's privacy is adequately protected to prevent data leakage and misuse is an issue that the design team must pay attention to. The research team needs to adopt advanced encryption technology and data protection measures to ensure the security and privacy of user data.
Socio-cultural adaptability: People from different regions and cultural backgrounds may have different levels of acceptance and expectations of bracelets. The design team needs to study the cultural practices and consumer psychology of different regions to ensure that the product can be widely recognised and enjoyed globally.
Project Duration
The project started in April 2024, ended in July 2024 and was exhibited at Han Art International in August 2024.
Operation Flow
Product Interaction: Touch and Gesture Control: Convenient operation through touch screen and gesture movements.
Magnetic charging: simplify the charging process and improve durability.
Bluetooth and APP synchronisation: connect with mobile APP, synchronise data and manage remotely.
Quick operation and personalisation: one-button operation, personalised dials and reminders.
Health monitoring and emergency warning: real-time monitoring of physiological indicators, timely warning of abnormal conditions.
Research
This product study collects user feedback through online questionnaires and other means. The results show that users attach great importance to the health monitoring accuracy, charging convenience and information reminder function of the wristband. Users want to optimise the health monitoring algorithm, increase the choice of wristband materials, simplify the APP operation process, and improve the efficiency of solar charging.
Inspiration
Its design is inspired by a deep understanding of the energy cycle in nature and the urgent need for modern people to pursue a healthy and environmentally friendly life. The innovative use of the three major technologies of solar power storage, biofilm power generation and kinetic energy storage, which realises the recycling of energy, allows users to say goodbye to power anxiety completely.
