About Framed Time Residence

Morning sunlight filters through soft gauze curtains, creating a tranquil atmosphere with a blend of warm and grey tones. The design team carefully balanced trim proportions, showcasing luxury and elegance through delicate details. The spacious layout combines neoclassical elegance with smooth design elements, promoting relaxation. The symmetrical open-plan materials enhance the sense of order, while daylight illuminates every corner, revealing a paradise-like atmosphere of exquisite taste and timeless beauty.

Framed Time Residence demonstrates the enduring appeal of residential interior design that privileges spatial clarity, material authenticity, and chromatic restraint within the contemporary design discourse, situating itself within the broader movement toward what might be termed quiet luxury or understated modernism that has characterized high-end residential work throughout the early twenty-first century, drawing upon mid-century Scandinavian principles of functionalism tempered by warmth, the space achieves compositional sophistication through its tripartite horizontal organization, balancing the luxurious verticality of the marble media wall at left with the functional dining zone at right and the permeable luminous window wall anchoring the middle distance, the floor plane unifies these distinct territories through continuous oak planking whose linear grain establishes rhythmic flow and tactile warmth underfoot, chromatic accomplishment emerges through the designer's disciplined adherence to a warm neutral foundation punctuated by selective saturated accents, the honey and wheat tones of timber flooring, the cream and linen upholstery, the soft gray drapery, and the ivory marble create a serene envelope within which mustard and rose cushions register as deliberate chromatic events rather than arbitrary decoration, technical facility appears in the precise detailing of built-in cabinetry integrating media equipment and display niches within the marble wall composition, the thoughtful layering of window treatments providing multiple degrees of transparency and privacy control, and the careful furniture selection favoring pieces with rounded profiles and generous proportions that soften the orthogonal architectural container, the low-profile sectional with curved armrests, the organic kidney-shaped coffee table, and the circular ceiling fixture all introduce biomorphic counterpoint to rectilinear spatial boundaries, lighting design demonstrates particular accomplishment in its layered approach combining abundant natural illumination with ambient artificial sources, the sculptural ceiling fixture and multi-arm chandelier providing both functional illumination and sculptural presence, the space appears to explore themes of contemporary domesticity reimagined through the lens of material refinement and spatial generosity, questioning how residential environments can simultaneously project sophistication and approachability, formality and comfort, visual restraint and sensory richness, the designer seems to engage with the perennial challenge of creating rooms that photograph beautifully while remaining fundamentally livable, spaces that satisfy both aesthetic contemplation and daily inhabitation, iconographic references might include the modernist tradition of open-plan living pioneered by mid-century architects, the Scandinavian emphasis on natural materials and neutral palettes, the contemporary preference for mixing textures within monochromatic schemes, and perhaps the influence of hospitality design bringing residential environments a degree of curated polish once reserved for hotels and showrooms, one might observe how the careful calibration of this interior invites consideration of dwelling as both functional necessity and aesthetic practice, as shelter elevated through design consciousness into an environment supporting not merely physical habitation but also psychological well-being through beauty, order, light, and material quality.

Unique Properties
This project emphasizes the essence of neo-classical symmetry, with clean facades and a balanced design. The dining room and TV wall are unified in an open plan, creating a seamless flow throughout the space. Simple lines evoke a boutique-like atmosphere, revealing a refined lifestyle. The client's preference for dark tones was carefully incorporated, balancing ambiance and occupant needs. A dark-colored entrance enhances the first impression, while an openwork vista allows light beams to blend dark and light tones, adding depth and harmony to the space.
Dimensions & Packaging
The site is an old apartment on the 13th floor with a total indoor area of 99.1 square meters.
According to the number of residents, the design team planned a spacious social area. The living room and dining room are bounded by a sofa, while the kitchen is placed on the kitchen island. The open plan reverses the pattern of a single field with a single window, allowing unobstructed natural light to illuminate the interior.

Production Technology
Building materials: slab tiles, metal trim, glass, iron parts, wood grain, water-based eco-friendly paint, etc.
The highlight is the presentation of light and shadow. The color scheme is based on warm gray tones. When daylight illuminates the space, the visual effect is refreshing and warm. After sunset, the linear lighting and trims depict the softness of classical design.
Design Challenge
The planning of the master bedroom bathroom was a challenge. With limited space and fixed piping locations, the space is planned based on the toilet to match the living habits of the occupants. Then, with the master bedroom, the position of the furniture had to be carefully planned to realize a customized private area.
Project Duration
The project finished in July 2023 in Taiwan.
Operation Flow
During the initial discussion, the design team and the client had different ideas about the color palette. One was based on personal preference and the other on style. After communication and coordination, a balance was reached. With their professionalism and experience, the design team worked on the details, such as the kitchen island that is aligned with the wall, the metal trim, and the boutique window-like dining cabinets, so that one or a group of people can enjoy the convenience and aesthetics of the space.
Research
The project, 'Framed Time,' transforms an old apartment with an elaborate light and shadow plan. Natural light floods the space through large windows, casting soft shades along the ceiling, floor, and walls, while screened windows filter sunlight. The open social area combines the living and dining rooms with unified marble patterns, a delicate TV wall, a sideboard, and rhythmic grille lighting. The foyer's openwork frames beautiful moments of light and shadow, enhancing elegance. The layout is reshaped and a light color scheme maximizes the small 42.9 sqm space, creating exclusive texture and atmosphere.
Inspiration
The site is a new apartment serving one person. The client prefers the softness and luxurious elegance of neo-classical, and the design team reorganized the space accordingly. The interior retains the symmetry of the neoclassical, with light as the main character. The contrast between walls and materials allows daylight to illuminate all corners. Unlike the old style, the light color palette depicts a sophisticated lifestyle.
