About Dananmen Hotel Hospitality

Dananmen Hotel is a business travel hotel interior located in Quzhou. The design draws on the local history of Longyou, an ancient city long known for its merchant groups and river scenery. The architectural style of the Republic of China period is continued throughout the spaces. The theme is a return to benevolence, expressed through wutong and seed motifs linked to Confucian culture. Marble, antique brick, wood finish and stainless steel are the main materials. The internal landscape surrounds the core functional area, which covers 15325.6 square meters in total.

Yi Jin's Dananmen Hotel Hospitality represents a distinguished achievement in contemporary hospitality interior design, seamlessly weaving cultural heritage references with refined material sophistication and innovative spatial narrative. The lobby space functions as both threshold and destination, employing the double-height volume to create a sense of arrival ceremony while maintaining human-scaled intimacy through careful deployment of warm natural materials. The suspended light installation emerges as the compositional centerpiece, its flowing ribbons suggesting traditional ink brush calligraphy translated into three-dimensional luminous form, creating a kinetic dialogue between ancient artistic traditions and contemporary lighting technology. Perhaps most compelling is the decorative screen featuring hundreds of individually placed paper elements reminiscent of temple wish tags, transforming functional space division into participatory cultural artifact that may evoke traditions of communal prayer and collective aspiration. The material palette demonstrates sophisticated restraint, pairing the warmth of honey-toned oak with the cool sophistication of polished stone, while the terrarium planter introduces biophilic elements that humanize the grand scale. The bas-relief wall treatment behind the reception desk subtly references traditional architectural profiles, creating visual connection to cultural memory without literal historicism. This layered approach to meaning-making, combining sensory material experience with symbolic cultural resonance, positions the design within contemporary tendencies that seek authenticity through reinterpretation rather than reproduction. The space invites consideration of how hospitality environments might serve not merely functional needs but aspirational and spiritual dimensions of human gathering. Viewers might contemplate how the interplay of light, material, and cultural symbol transforms commercial space into vessel for collective experience and cultural continuity.

Research
The theme line of the plan is to return to benevolence. Benevolence is a model of morality and also has the meaning of seed. Wutong is the main body of the design. Adorable seeds represent Confucianism. Under the influence of it, Longyou merchants gradually sprout.
Inspiration
Dananmen is the interpretation and witness of the revival of the ancient city and the prosperity of the business group. It is the core node of the provincial and municipal poetry and painting scenic belt and the "two rivers corridor" of Longyou County, and carries the warm and beautiful nostalgic memory in the hearts of generations of local people. Therefore, the plan takes the Confucian's return to the kernel as the theme line.
