About Clinic Cascais Healthcare Space

Clinic Cascais is a dental clinic interior located in Portugal. The layout was arranged around the view of the Serra de Sintra, so the waiting areas also serve as places for visual contemplation. Most of the interior walls are made of glass, bringing natural light into the dental offices, the waiting room and the administrative areas. Reliance on artificial light is reduced in this way. Exposed concrete is combined with white walls and suspended lighting. Glass, marble and concrete are the main materials.

Unique Properties
The view of the Serra de Sintra was one of the assumptions in the layout distribution allowing the waiting areas to also become spaces for visual contemplation. it is one of the largest clinics in portugal and the aim was to create a concept where the patient felt comfortable. The concrete was mixed with the white walls, in which lighting is suspended. The layout of the interior spaces started from the maximum use of natural light for the work areas, thus reducing the environmental footprint in the building. Most of the interior wall are of glass, allowing natural light. An overlooking the Serra de Sintra, the main waiting room of the Clinic and also sanitary facilities.
the recovery office, was placed in front of a window to the main palace in Portugal, the Palacio da Pena.

Operation Flow
The main front of the Clinic, whose facade is made of glass, immediately defined the interior materiality of some areas, namely the separation of dental offices / circulation, which was also made of transparent glass so that the interior could receive natural light, thus reducing the impact in the use of artificial light, namely in the waiting room, administrative offices and dental offices.
Research
we tried to apply the knowledge of our sabrab office project, which won several awards, among them the Gold A Design Award, and apply the same materials to a clinic
Inspiration
Create a clinic where there was a mixture of sensations, due to the white space, mixed with the exposed concrete and lighting that is through the wall.
