About CCRG Jiu Chen Sales Center
CCRG Jiu Chen is a sales center in Chengdu, China, with a total area of 1380 square meters. The design theme is a moonlit lotus pond, expressed through the diffusion forms of traditional Chinese ink painting. Arcs and circles serve as the main line elements, appearing on the floor and echoed by a stainless steel mirror ceiling. Stone and aluminum panels create a black and white tone. Curved walls divide the plan into distinct areas. Spiral stairs of low carbon steel suggest the motion of goldfish, with red and yellow used as accents.
Within the contemporary discourse of experiential retail and hospitality design, this interior by Sheng Hao Jiang exemplifies a synthesis of Eastern philosophical sensibility and cutting-edge material innovation that elevates the commercial sales environment into a realm of contemplative spatial poetry. The ceiling installation emerges as the composition's crowning achievement, where hundreds of delicate translucent ribbon elements appear to float and flow as if captured mid-current in an invisible stream, their ethereal quality amplified through reflection in the polished obsidian ceiling surface that doubles the visual complexity while suggesting infinite celestial depth. The orbital light rings threading through this suspended sculpture introduce geometric structure to organic flow, creating dynamic tension between the controlled and the spontaneous that characterizes the finest contemporary Asian design sensibilities. The vertical fin wall treatment demonstrates exceptional craft, each element precisely aligned yet collectively participating in an undulating wave pattern that evokes traditional ink-wash landscape painting translated into architectural vocabulary, the suggestion of distant mountain ranges emerging through subtraction rather than addition. The curved reception desk echoes this landscape motif through its own sinuous profile, the alternating light and dark striations creating topographic contour lines that reinforce the nature-inspired visual language throughout. Materiality plays a crucial communicative role, with the warm cream and taupe tones suggesting natural materials and human comfort while the reflective noir surfaces introduce sophistication and drama appropriate to a luxury sales environment. The spatial experience moves the visitor from the expansive reflective entry floor through the intimate embrace of the reception alcove, creating a journey of compression and release that mirrors architectural promenade traditions. One might contemplate how this environment transforms commercial transaction into aesthetic experience, inviting visitors to pause and absorb beauty before practical matters commence.

- The interior trim is reflected in the stainless steel mirror on the ceiling. Still arc and circle are used as main line elements, which add the beautiful scenery in the lotus pond to the modern environment in a unique way, echoing the arc on the ground and creating a space perception with distinct gradations. Lotus flowers float on the quiet water surface, showing different postures and expressing an elegant and pleasant beauty of artistic conception.
- Design Challenge
- In term of the challenge, the lightness of the stroke, the intensity of the ink, and the thickness of the ink can be varied to create a myriad of textures. The design team needed to go through careful planning to integrate the lotus pond into the space, creating a quiet and comfortable feeling.
- Project Duration
- The project was located in Cheng Dou, China. It was finished in September 2019.
- Operation Flow
- Based on the arc and round wall surface, water is divided into different natural areas. The moving form of goldfish is concealed in the design of stairs. The geometric figure, together with the integration of gentleness and quietness of water, presents a strong visual impact.
- Research
- With regard to the selection of material, JRG with a low carbon content is selected to ensure the plasticity and artistry of spiral stairs. Red and yellow are selected as the representative colors of goldfish and are well arranged in the space, just like fish playing in the water, which is very vivid and interesting.
- Inspiration
- Ink painting: Ink is one of the unique materials in traditional Chinese painting. According to the content of clear water, ink is divided into thick ink, pale ink, dry ink, wet ink and coked ink. In CCRG Jiu Chen Sales Centre, the lotus pond moon color as the design theme of the space, combined with the subjective interest characteristics of ink emphasizing expression, through modern design techniques to create a black and white ink tone of simple and inclusive space.
