어머니 지구(Mother Earth)는 지구를 건강이 악화된 여성의 인간적 형상으로 표현한 스튜디오 인물 사진이다. 메이크업에는 초록색, 파란색, 갈색 톤을 사용해 바다와 식물, 토양을 나타냈다. 모델의 머리에는 시들어가는 꽃잎을 배치하여 병약함을 암시했다. 모델의 표정은 슬픔과 취약함을 전달한다. 조명은 모델을 향한 대형 옥타박스 하나와 배경에 비추는 조명 하나로 구성했다. 최종 이미지는 디지털 편집 소프트웨어로 정교하게 보정했다. 이 사진은 환경 오염을 인간의 감정과 연결하며 기후 변화에 대한 관심을 환기시킨다.

생산 기술: I sketched the idea for the makeup artist to understand the concept. The colors are representation of nature, and the dead flowers on the head of the model to show that she is dying. I asked the model to show vulnerability and sadness. I used one big octabox on the model and one light on the backdrop.
디자인 과제: The hardest part of this project was to find an African model. At the time of making this project, modeling agencies wast not common. So finding a model of a specific look was difficult.
연구: How earth would look like in a human form is the main is the core of this project. So, I mainly used google to view other artist approach of this concept, to get inspiration. The I did sketches of my own to show them to the makeup artist so she could understand my vision. I decided to hire an African model since Africa is the most connected with nature than others. I used dying petals as a representation of sickness. The green, blue and brown ware used as the colors of nature.
영감: When I was a kid winter used to be colder and longer. Climate is actually changing due to global worming. Mother earth is dying and we are the ones responsible for that. So I though to represent planet earth as a sick woman waring nature, with makeup inspired by oceans, plants and soil. I choose an African model, as for me, Africa is the closest place on earth to pure nature.
프로젝트 기간: The photograph took around 3 hours for the makeup and shooting in studio and 2 hours of retouching. It was shot in Kuwait 2015.
운영 흐름: Mother Earth photograph main perps is to engage with the viewers emotionally. So the best way to view this photograph is to look hard to the model's face and try to read her emotions.
