'전쟁의 규칙(The Rules of War)'은 국제인도법과 무력 충돌 시 지켜야 할 절제의 규칙을 다룬 포스터 시리즈이다. 이 시리즈는 여백(네거티브 스페이스)을 주로 활용하며, 분쟁의 어느 한쪽을 연상시킬 수 있는 색상, 형태, 인물을 배제했다. 네 가지 주제를 통해 국제인도법과 꾸란이 공유하는 가르침을 제시한다. 이 포스터들은 라마단 기간 동안 아랍어권 및 무슬림 관객에게 이러한 규칙을 더욱 가깝게 전달하기 위해 제작되었다. 각 포스터는 1000 x 700밀리미터 규격으로, 인쇄용과 디지털용 모두에 사용할 수 있도록 제작되었다.

고유 특성: The thought-provoking poster design series utilizes mostly negative space to illustrative conceptual ideas about the rules of restraint in conflict. The brief entailed to include no colors, shapes, or figures that could point fingers at any sides of warring conflict, and so the use of a neutral but powerful image was the answer.

연구: To kickstart, an observation of the perception of the Red Cross in the Arab region amongst Muslim countries was taken note of, which was that it was a Christian organization that is secular even in providing aid and people were skeptical to donate money to it. Research was conducted on the similarities between International Humanitarian Law, which is essentially the mandate of Red Cross, and Quraan, which is in some sense the "mandate" of the aforementioned audience. The similarities were very clear and directly instructed, and therefore, four themes were identified to be visualized.
영감: Created for the worst of times, International Humanitarian Law preserves the core of our common humanity. However, with the amount of shocking violations to it nowadays, its capacity to provide real protections for the victims of today's complex armed conflicts has been in question by many. To bring international humanitarian law closer to Arab speaking audiences and Muslim communities during Ramadan, this set of posters was created to stir conversation and communicate the very similar teachings of International Humanitarian Law and Islam.
프로젝트 기간: This project was created during the month of May 2019 in Cairo, Egypt.
운영 흐름: These posters are designed to live both in printed and digital form. On social media platforms belonging to Red Cross, the posters garnered great relevance to the audience, and was shared widely. With people supporting the messages of peace and being in favor of promoting humanitarian values.
