More About Taiping New City Poetic Emerald Corridor Landscape Planning Design
Taiping New City Poetic Emerald Corridor is a linear public park in Anning, Kunming, China. The green corridor is about 5.5 kilometres long and covers a landscape area of about 156.42 hectares. Four existing water ponds form the centres of four themed zones, devoted to technology, light and shadow, art and culture, and healthy living. A slow movement path links the zones and follows the existing terrain and water system. Lighting, water supply and drainage, sculpture and service facilities are part of the plan. The park gives nearby residents and office workers a place for rest and recreation.

- Unique Properties
- On top of the parks densely covered and surrounded by nature,the Taiping Green Corridor continues this poetic nature and integrates the green open space design according to local conditions to create Taiping's"Emerald Necklace"and update the future urban park-like lifestyle. The park is an ideal place with rich culture and relaxation,you can feel the natural nature of returning to the original,close dialogue with the mountains and rivers,coexist with nature,and resonate with the soul.
- Inspiration
- A linear 5.5KM shared green corridor, as a symbol of the urban city, is close to nature, pursues health, highlights the harmonious integration between man and nature, and deduces the new life model of Taiping. Inspired by Emerald Necklaces,we take advantage of the existing site's four water ponds,which are like pearls on a necklace to evolve into four sub-zones that are based on the themes of scientific and technological innovation, light and shadow effects, art and culture, and health life.

- The design is mainly for leisure and recreation by adjacent residents and office workers,taking into account the traffic needs of surrounding projects.And also focus on building a public space system combining points,lines and planes,propose the design of the park's theme function positioning,general layout,landscape feature creation,service facilities,transportation organization,various support systems,etc..
- Challenge
- 1.Handle the functional layout relationship with the surrounding projects. 2.Reasonably organize diversified traffic and handle the traffic flow well In relation to the flow of people. 3.Make full use of the existing terrain and water system resources, and closely integrate the slow-moving system with the park and water system. 4.Build people-oriented activity venues. 5.Focus on safety and resilience park design.strengthen research on water resources, water environment, water safety, etc.

- Landscape planning design, landscape accessories, sculpture, slow-moving system design and water supply and drainage design related to surrounding landscape (including water supply and drainage engineering design for irrigation water, reclaimed water, drainage, pump station, etc.), corresponding lighting engineering design , the necessary geological survey work for landscape design, etc.
