Tentang Within The Sunlit Haven Renovasi Interior

Within The Sunlit Haven merupakan renovasi interior pada lantai dasar sebuah rumah tinggal keluarga berusia 40 tahun di Taiwan. Ruang seluas 39,6 meter persegi ini terasa remang dan sempit sebelum pengerjaan. Area foyer, ruang keluarga, dan ruang makan disatukan menjadi satu area bersama yang terbuka dan cocok untuk berkumpul. Pencahayaan dibuat konsisten dan dapat diatur guna mengurangi kelelahan mata, sementara lampu di atas meja makan dapat berfungsi sebagai lampu baca. Tiang-tiang logam pada bangku sepatu sekaligus berperan sebagai pegangan tangan. Seluruh material yang digunakan hanya yang tidak beracun dan ramah lingkungan.

Keunikan: This project’s aim is to transform the dim and restricted 1st floor of a 40-year-old family residence into a cozy common area. The owners are a mother in her 60s and her son. Their love for gatherings and nature is incorporated into the design. The designer carefully plans out the lighting for the mother’s eye health, and special metal grab bars at the foyer for accessibility. Only non-toxic and eco materials are used in this project, putting the family’s well-being upfront in the design.
Dimensi & Kemasan: Floor size: 39.6 sqm (1 floor)
Teknologi Produksi: The project uses only non-toxic materials such as certified 0 VOC emulsion paint and lumber, alongside with eco-friendly calcium silicate boards. Additionally, the home is equipped with a ceiling concealed AC unit and an ERV system for better air quality and energy efficiency. On the ceiling at the entrance is a circular maintenance hatch, convenient and aesthetically pleasing.
Tantangan Desain: The space before renovation was troubled with subpar lighting. The designer made the decision to replace the window glass with better transparency.

The house itself is a 40-year-old building; hence it came with many problems that plague other similar architectures, most notably water leakage and damage. After completely removing the original interior, returning the residence to skeleton, the issues were dealt with, and the designer was able to plan the layout from scratch.
Inspirasi: Hidden in the design are the imageries of nature, for hiking being one of the family’s favorite activities. Rounded corners on the ceiling are inspired by winding mountain passes, and the metal strips on the dining room walls form the image of sunlight peeking through the mountains.

To improve the circulation, the designer connects the foyer, the living room and then the dining room, combining them into an open-concept common area suitable for multiple people to enjoy the space together.
Durasi Proyek: The project was finished in 2024, located in Changhua, Taiwan.
Alur Operasi: Considering the owner’s age, the designer ensures the consistency of the lighting throughout the interior to minimize eye strain. The brightness and color temperature of the light strips can be easily adjusted according to needs, the light fixture above the dining table can be transformed into a reading light. Additionally, the metal support posts of the shoe bench at the foyer doubles as grab bars for accessibility.
