关于 Exocet 多功能椅

Exocet 是一款采用波罗的海桦木与铝材打造的多功能椅。椅身由一系列完全相同的弧形板条围绕中心圆柱组装而成。采用单一的基本板条造型，有助于实现高效的生产制造流程。Exocet 可调节为多种形态，包括标准座椅、可摇摆的躺椅以及折叠收纳形态。变换造型时，使用者只需通过手柄释放压力，绕中心圆柱转动各个板条组，再重新拧紧手柄即可。最终呈现的，是一把姿态多变而零件极少的座椅。

独特属性: EXOCET is a new concept chair. Its unique & clever design allows to transform it in order to get the desired shape. The EXOCET is crafted from a single main piece, a slat. A series of identical slats assembly is simply rotated on a cylinder.

生产技术: Baltic Birch & Aluminium
设计挑战: Finding solution to limit friction as much as possible. To select the proper material to produce the cylinder and handles to avoid deterioration.
研究: The slat shape was the key element. It was imperative to design the slat so that it would maximize comfort through the various possible positions.
灵感: It started with a simple questioning. Can we create a long chair offering more than 3 back positions? And can it rock as well? And can it be made of very few pieces? Could a chair be designed using smooth curves instead hard straight lines? And most importantly, can it be simple yet innovative & elegant? I started designing with one obsession using only one basic shape allowing a very efficient fabrication process.
项目周期: The project started in July 2014. The first hand made prototype was created in August 2014. The first public exhibition took place in Toronto at the Interior Design Show in January 22 to 25, 2015.
操作流程: You can transform it by releasing the pressure with the handle. You move the section around the cylinder to create the desired configuration and you tighten the handle.
