Nausicaa jẹ́ ọkọ̀ ojú omi tí ń fi ọkọ̀ ìhàrí rìn (sailing yacht) tó ní gígùn mítà mẹ́rìnlélógún (24), tí a ṣe àpẹẹrẹ rẹ̀ fún ìrìn àjò gíga pẹ̀lú àwọn òṣìṣẹ́ díẹ̀. Ìgbékalẹ̀ àti ohun èlò gíga (rig) ni a fi carbon fiber pátápátá ṣe, tí a kọ́ pẹ̀lú ọ̀nà ìkọ́lé sandwich àti epoxy infusion, èyí tí ó jẹ́ kí ọkọ̀ náà fúyẹ́. Ìrísí ọkọ̀ tó fẹ́rẹ̀ẹ́ tín àti ìrísí ọ̀tọ̀ọ̀tọ̀ tí kò lẹ́wọ̀ jù ní orí ọkọ̀ náà ń fún Nausicaa ní ìrísí òde-òní. Nausicaa Ọkọ̀ Ojú Omi jẹ́ olùborí Àmì-ẹ̀yẹ Idẹ A' Design Award, ìdánimọ̀ olókìkí gan-an tí a fún àwọn àwòṣe tó tayọ tí wọ́n yàtọ̀ nípasẹ̀ ìṣẹ̀dá, àrékérekè àti ọgbọ́n inú. Àwọn olùborí Idẹ jẹ́ àwọn ohun èlò tó ní ìjáfáfá gan-an tí wọ́n sì ní ìṣẹ̀dá tó yani lẹ́nu tí wọ́n ń ṣe ẹ̀rí ìrírí gbígbòòrò, ìrònú àti ọgbọ́n àwọn olùṣàwòṣe wọn. Àwọn Ohun Àkànṣe: This 24 meter light sailing yacht has a full carbon structure and rig, making her able to reach high level short hand performance cruising. The slender hull shape, and the very minimalistic superstructure profile give Nausicaa a modern and contemporary style, along with with its unique big hull window that confers a very recognizable line that is also reflected in interior spaces. The full beam master suite has panoramic views and direct private access to the yacht’s beach area.

Ìmọ̀-ẹ̀rọ Ìṣelọ́pọ̀: The design started from hand sketching and was followed by 2D drawings and 3D modelling. It was a very iterative process that finished with the result of the renders, 2D technical drawings and an engineering technical report. The construction technique for the actual yacht was calculated to be full carbon fiber and sandwich with epoxy infusion.
Ìpèníjà Àpèsè: One of the main challenges the team had to overcome was the different discipline backgrounds from its three members: product design, architecture and naval engineering. However, this challenge ended up being an strength that allowed the team to learn much more along the process and to obtain a very complete project. It was also particulary difficult to find the appropiate information about the materials and propulsion in order to achieve a environment-friendly yacht, which restricted the team options in that matter.
Ìwádìí: The research was focused on yachts with the same lenght. The objective was to create a database to obtain main dimensions and design inspiration. The methodology used was creating a data spreadsheet, a cad comparison file and an inspiration moodboard. This data collection allowed the team to start from a solid base and develop further the technical and aesthetic design of the project. The research was fundamental for the results obtained.
Ìmísí: The project ideas started from various iconic design references. The inspiration came from other yacht designs of similar lenghts and different design details from a variety of brands and products. Wally played an importan role for both the exterior and interior design: the 'terrace on the sea', the minimalistic exterior profile, the interior steps and furniture forms, among others. Pininfarina was also a great source of inspiration in terms of interior forms and details.
Àkókò Iṣẹ́ Àkànṣe: One year development, in Milan.
Ìlànà Ìṣiṣẹ́: The yacht project is born from the idea of allowing short hand sailing, something quite unusual in larger lengths. A well thought and studied deck layout and equipment is the key to this easy sailing feature. The beach area offers the possibility to use the last step from the cockpit as a seating bench and storage. Thanks to the teak extended along the sides it is possible to lean on and enjoy the fantastic terrace with views.
