About Vitality Multifunctional Fitness Bench
Vitality is a multifunctional fitness bench designed for exercise at home. The bench has a simple form and can be used as ordinary seating or as a fitness bench. The soft leather cushion can be raised and fixed at set angles to support different exercises. A drawer with internal partitions stores dumbbells, elastic bands and other small fitness items. The frame is made of hot bent environmentally friendly board, and a perforated metal panel on the side improves air flow. Rubber padded wheels and a side handle allow the bench to be moved easily. Vitality suits small homes.
Ziel Home Furnishing Technology Co., Ltd's Vitality Multifunctional Fitness Bench emerges from the contemporary design discourse surrounding the integration of wellness practices within domestic environments, addressing the evolving relationship between living spaces and personal health rituals. The work demonstrates remarkable sensitivity to the challenge of introducing exercise equipment into refined interiors, resolving potential aesthetic discord through careful material selection and sculptural form development. The walnut veneer, with its rich figuring and tonal depth, establishes immediate visual kinship with traditional fine furniture, while the streamlined cabinet form conceals functional mechanisms within an envelope of domestic familiarity. Technical accomplishment appears throughout the design, from the precisely fitted panel joints that maintain grain continuity to the thoughtfully proportioned wheel that transforms the piece from stationary object to mobile furnishing. The dual cushion configuration suggests versatility in exercise positioning while their charcoal upholstery introduces chromatic sophistication that elevates the composition beyond utilitarian expectation. One might observe how the angled handle element references the organic curves found in mid-century modern furniture design, creating visual dialogue with established design heritage while serving practical repositioning needs. The overall silhouette achieves that elusive quality of appearing simultaneously substantial and light, grounded by the wheel's mass yet lifted by the delicate tapered legs. This work invites contemplation of how design might continue bridging the historically separate realms of exercise equipment and domestic furnishing, perhaps suggesting that wellness and aesthetic pleasure need not occupy separate spheres within contemporary living.

- Production Technology
- Vitality uses environmentally-friendly board hot bending forming as the main frame, with a matte leather soft bag. The seat cushion can adjust the angle at fixed points. There are partitions inside the drawer to separate and place fitness items. The wheels are equipped with rubber cushions to increase friction with the floor. The perforated metal plate on the side increases the breathability of the product. The paint process realizes the change of colorful colors.
- Design Challenge
- The biggest challenge in the process of realization and research is to satisfy people for fitness exercises in the limited space of the home. We try to ensure that people can exercise reasonably without taking up more space. At the same time, we hope that Vitality can be integrated into the family environment. We hope that Vitality can eliminate the panic caused by the epidemic and bring you a healthy and positive attitude towards life.
- Project Duration
- The project started in Shenzhen in March 2021 and completed in Shenzhen in June 2021.
- Operation Flow
- You can use Vitality as a bench, or as a fitness bench when you need to exercise. You can raise the soft-packed cushion to adjust the inclination angle you need to assist in completing the fitness exercise. You can take out from the drawer or put in fitness equipment, such as dumbbells, elastic bands, fascia guns, etc.; when you need to move, you can lift the side handle to push it to move.
- Research
- Due to the impact of the epidemic, working at home has become the norm in life. We surveyed 500 adults. Among them, 83% have exercise habits, and only 12% have the habit of exercising after the outbreak. The epidemic not only caused people to lack exercise and their resistance gradually declined, but also caused people to panic. Exercise can help us keep fit, and it also produces dopamine, which makes people feel happy. Vitality can help people exercise in the limited space at home.
- Inspiration
- At the beginning of 2020, the new crown epidemic suddenly struck. During this long period of epidemic, many people were closed at home, and working from home became the normal life. The epidemic prevented people from going out to exercise, and also brought diseases and panic to people. Based on the impact of the epidemic, we are exploring how people can better exercise at home in small apartments, which has inspired the inspiration of home fitness benches.
