About V Series Orchard Mulcher
V Series is a mulcher designed for work in orchards and vineyards. The machine is made of welded steel with a powder-coated or galvanized finish. Sharp motion-oriented lines, large flat surfaces and faceted details are derived from the redesigned company logo. The headstock resembles the silhouette of Mount Rtanj, at the foot of which the factory is located. The shape of the side mask is derived from a horse's head. Structural ribs add robustness. Three working widths are offered, and the side shift frame allows front, rear or combined attachment to a tractor.
Vladimir Zagorac's V Series Orchard Mulcher represents a distinguished achievement in contemporary agricultural equipment design, demonstrating how functional machinery can embody sophisticated aesthetic principles while maintaining uncompromising operational integrity. This implement belongs to a lineage of professional-grade land management tools that have evolved from purely utilitarian origins toward objects that communicate quality, reliability, and engineering excellence through their visual presentation. The designer appears to have approached the formal challenges of agricultural machinery with the same rigor applied to consumer product design, resulting in an object that balances the robust requirements of orchard maintenance with a refined visual language. The commanding red coloration serves multiple purposes: ensuring visibility for operational safety, establishing strong brand presence in professional contexts, and creating visual warmth that softens the inherently industrial character of heavy machinery. The compositional arrangement of the three-point linkage system demonstrates particular sophistication, with the triangular geometry providing both structural integrity and visual interest through its dynamic interplay with the horizontal mass of the main housing. Technical merit is evident in the careful integration of hydraulic components, where cylinders and hoses follow logical routing while contributing to the overall aesthetic coherence. The vertical slat detail along the lower housing suggests attention to both functional necessity and decorative rhythm, transforming a utilitarian feature into a design element that rewards closer inspection. Within the broader context of agricultural implement design, this work suggests an understanding that professional equipment operators increasingly value tools that reflect the sophistication of their expertise. One might observe how the studio presentation, with its neutral ground and controlled lighting, elevates the machinery from mere implement to designed object worthy of consideration. What qualities might distinguish equipment that serves both practical function and the aesthetic sensibilities of those who dedicate their professional lives to cultivating the land?

- Unique Properties
- The headstock was designed to resemble the characteristic silhouette of Mount Rtanj, at the foot of which the company is located. The mountain has many positive connotations locally which helps builds trust. The reinforced side mask represents a horse's head, a symbol of strength, fidelity, and perseverance, further associating with the brand. Robustness is highlighted by ribs, while the impression of orderliness and discipline is achieved by concealed joining and bolt layout.

- Design Challenge
- Maximum usage of laser cutting, large surfaces, and a minimum number of bends was planned to simplify production and avoid potential errors in production. Interventions in form details that allow easy positioning and fitting of elements, as well as notches that define the positions and length of weld lines, were implemented. The main objective was to reduce the human factor and minimize the number of operations while achieving the quality of workmanship at the level of European competition.
- Project Duration
- Product design and development took one and a half years to complete. The project was executed in Belgrade and Boljevac, Serbia.
- Operation Flow
- Several variations of the machine with different options of the headstock and output assembly are available. The side shift attachment frame allows three types of attachment to the tractor - front, rear, or both, and is available in manual or hydraulic shift option. The output assembly is available as a rubber curtain or counter-knives for fine shredding. Three working grips are available - 155, 180, and 200cm. The presented model features a hydraulic offset, front and rear-mounting, and rubber curtain.
- Research
- The strong physiognomy is dominated by sharp, directed forms, and massive faceted details. Elongated silhouette in the direction of movement complies with the latest CE certification rules. Special attention was given to the attachment frame, as it is one of the elements often overlooked when designing this type of product. The design simplifies the production of skids and the side mask, a characteristic part that leaves the manufacturer space to demonstrate quality workmanship.
- Inspiration
- The V mulcher series was designed after a complete rebranding of the company. The idea was to use only the latest technologies that give a superior and consistent quality of workmanship within the limitations of the material. The appearance of the machine is derived from the redesigned logo and features sharp motion-oriented lines, large flat surfaces, and distinctive details. Bold graphics were used to potentiate the main directions of the form and emphasize dynamics.
