About Soya Lankastar Digital Art

The design of soya reflects the style of the Persian culture in a captivating dark design. A dark hood with crescent symbol for even more mystery design, the ornament necklace adds an additional touch to the witch. The ornament visual design was an inspiration from the window ornaments in the churches. the dragon biting her ears give her such fantasy dark mystery look character design. combining all those elements give to soya a unique visual dark fantasy witch character design style.

Within the evolving landscape of contemporary digital figurative art, this work emerges as a compelling exploration of the intersection between classical portrait traditions and speculative character design, demonstrating how contemporary 3D modeling and rendering technologies can achieve expressive depths previously associated with traditional media while simultaneously opening new aesthetic territories. The portrait appears to draw upon centuries of European portraiture conventions, particularly the dramatic lighting schemas developed during the Baroque period, yet recontextualizes these traditions within a futuristic or fantastical register suggested by the subject's distinctive silver-blue hair coloration and the elaborate metallic collar that suggests both armor and adornment. The technical achievement evident in the hair rendering alone merits particular attention, as each strand appears individually modeled and lit, creating naturalistic volume and movement while maintaining the slightly otherworldly silver-blue coloration that positions the figure outside conventional realism. The skin rendering demonstrates sophisticated understanding of how light interacts with human tissue, capturing the subtle warmth of blood beneath surface layers and the delicate variations in texture across different facial zones. The decorative elements near the temples and cheekbones introduce ambiguity regarding the figure's nature, potentially suggesting technological augmentation, ceremonial ornamentation, or innate fantastical qualities that invite narrative speculation without demanding resolution. The direct gaze establishes a relationship of mutual regard between depicted figure and viewer, conferring upon the subject a sense of agency and interiority that elevates the work beyond mere technical demonstration toward genuine portraiture in the psychological sense. One might contemplate how such works negotiate the boundaries between idealization and individuation, between the creation of fictional beings and the ancient human impulse to capture presence and personality through visual representation.

Design Interview about Soya Lankastar Digital Art

I was always fascinated by witches and fantasy this is where it really soya came to be. at first, I wanted to create a beautiful digital human Korean girl but then my imagination starts to take me somewhere else once I started to see Soya
From there I start to think about how I can give a beautiful dark touch and make her unique from there I start to get inspiration from witches and mystery fantasy characters to create her to a new level of creativity.
The way made soya is like using Lego, it was for me like a puzzle to achieve what I want at the end from there I start to think about creating different lighting scenario and cinematic shots to give the final visual and representation of her characteristic as a light witch.

Every character I develop, I use blender as my main production workflow this time I wanted to achieve something dark, beauty deep mysterious, I achieved what I want but still as an artist I always like to find new challenges to bring something new to the World and this is really my true passion.

To complete my story the Witches of Linerma and reveal the true identity of this Witch why her name is Luna where she came from and what's the reason that she is the main protagonist of the story to save Linerma from the Darkness that the God of chaos Enix created.

It took me 1 month to make Soya from modeling, and texturing to rigging and final lighting and compositing

I wanted to create something new and unique but also that have mystery, dark and beautiful.

No, it wasn't but I received many requests and offers from different big companies and studios from China, Korea, France, Singapore, Japan such as Netease, Square Enix, Colosso, Yihuu to sell my design and explain the process of how it was made and lease the production rights, but I rejected them all and I have no plan to sell any of my characters to any platform.

I wanted to create a dark beauty even and with the technology we have in our hand I am going to bring Soya this time to something new.

It was only me and every character I have created there is no one involved.

I didn't target anyone it was my personal project, but I was focusing on bringing a new image and unique style to sandstorm the company I created and my design Soya with other creative styles helped me achieve that.

Soya is a mysterious dark light witch and sister of Luna Lankaster that it's very hard to reproduce this is why every day I receive emails from different places in the world asking for tutorials or selling in it.

Luna it's coming from the name Moon and her earring, and her necklace is a moon this is why her name is Luna.

I use mostly Blender when making Luna but also, I used Marvelous Designer for making her clothes and Zbrush for sculpting details such as her crescent and then knald for baking the high details.

No, I didn't collaborate with anyone, I made Luna by self at home using my personal computer.

Technology was an important role for me, by learning Blender and developing my own skills and techniques on it help me imagine and create what I want to achieve as the final product.

No, it wasn't the only thing that was influenced was Luna necklaces beside that everything was created from my imaginations.

The challenge I faced during the production of Luna was her characteristic and personality, at first, I was focusing on creating a beautiful Korean girl in CG but then slowly started to see something out of what I wanted to make then once it appeared I start to focus on her slowly until I created her how I wanted to see her.

To be honest I never thought of that until someone from your staff contacted me to participate in the competition, at first I was hesitating because I was busy but also it was my first experience participating in an international design competition then I decided to free my time and focus on the competition for me it was a great experience and I will participate again in the future.

After I created Luna The Night Witch and win the heart of people around the world and receiving different awards in different platforms and got featured which I never tought of it, because of that it gave me a strong motivation to start to developing my self more and create more characters for my fantasy dark story.

I would like to thank you for giving me the opportunity to express myself and sharing my experience and the challenges I faces during the making of Soya Lankastar. I also would like to thank you for the silver award I win which now gives me more motivation and challenge to bring something to a new high level of creativity to the World.
