Unique Properties
Playlog is a cross platform game logging and discovery platform that unifies fragmented gaming experiences into a single personal archive. Its adaptive Gamer Archetype system personalizes the interface according to player behavior, while built in spoiler protection enables safe social interaction. By combining structured game tracking with a refined journal like aesthetic, Playlog redefines how players document, reflect on, and share their gaming journeys beyond platform boundaries.
Dimensions & Packaging
Playlog is designed as a mobile first digital application optimized for iOS and Android platforms. The interface follows a responsive layout system based on an 8px grid, supporting common screen sizes from 360×780 px to 430×932 px. UI components are built within a scalable design system supporting both dark and light modes. The prototype was developed at high fidelity resolution using vector based assets to ensure pixel perfect rendering across devices. The interaction model supports touch first navigation, accessibility contrast standards, and performance friendly motion guidelines.

Production Technology
Playlog was developed through a user centered design methodology combining qualitative research, persona mapping, and high fidelity prototyping. The interface is built on a strict 8px grid system with modular UI components to ensure consistency across light and dark modes. Interaction flows were validated through iterative usability testing, while visual decisions were guided by WCAG accessibility standards and contrast ratios. The system emphasizes adaptability and emotional usability.
Design Challenge
The primary challenge was balancing a high density of gaming data with a stylized aesthetic without compromising readability. Internally, the project had to bridge the emotional gap between traditional journaling and modern digital habits. Externally, ensuring accessibility across various screen sizes while maintaining high contrast for low light environments was a technical hurdle. This was overcome by implementing a strict 8px grid and a dual typography system for clarity
Project Duration
The Playlog project started in Eskisehir, Turkey in August 2025 and was completed in Izmir, Turkey in December 2025.
Operation Flow
Users begin by selecting a persona that reflects their play style, instantly shaping the app atmosphere. The core flow involves logging games, adding ratings or personal notes, and building a gaming history. The interface relies on clear visual hierarchy and intuitive gestures to make interaction feel natural. By combining personal reflection with protected social sharing, Playlog transforms fragmented play sessions into a curated, lifelong archive of digital experiences.
Research
This project is based on qualitative research using interviews and surveys. The objective was to understand how players connect with their gaming experiences and to identify gaps in logging. Methodology included persona mapping and journey analysis. Participants were multi platform gamers aged 18-35. Results revealed a demand for a unified space where emotional value matters more than data. These insights led to an adaptive interface that transforms gameplay into a digital memory.
Inspiration
Playlog was inspired by the transient nature of gaming memories. While players invest significant time in virtual worlds, these emotional journeys often lack a permanent record. Research into player psychology and user interviews revealed a strong need for a unified space where individuals can reflect on their gaming experiences across platforms. The design was motivated by the desire to transform fragmented playtime into a meaningful, curated archive by merging the structured ritual of trad
