About Logan Lcc Landscape

Logan LCC is a landscape design for a mixed-use site in Shenzhen, China. The project covers 87044 square meters and uses the altitude differences of the site to form a three-dimensional landscape space. Platforms are placed among the buildings, and the grounds include outdoor activity areas, a large swimming pool and a children's playground. A waterfall combines glass with hollow steel plates, so water flows along one side of the glass and light and movement appear through the openings. Planting in flowing shapes frames the space, and landscape installations are set in different corners.

Logan Group's Logan Lcc Landscape exemplifies the sophisticated evolution of contemporary residential landscape architecture, presenting a compelling synthesis of aquatic programming, horticultural artistry, and architectural integration within the challenging context of high-density urban development. The design demonstrates exceptional command of multilevel spatial organization, orchestrating a sequence of water features, garden rooms, and circulation pathways that transform what might otherwise function as utilitarian podium space into a contemplative retreat of considerable aesthetic refinement. The compositional strategy reveals careful attention to the experiential journey of inhabitants moving through varied spatial conditions: from the expansive geometry of the primary swimming pools with their luminous underwater illumination to more intimate planted courts sheltered beneath mature tree canopies. Particularly noteworthy is the deployment of a distinctive ovoid timber pavilion that introduces organic curvilinear form into the predominantly orthogonal vocabulary of the surrounding architecture, functioning as both visual focal point and programmatic destination that anchors the central garden sequence. The chromatic relationship between cool aquatic elements and warm landscape lighting achieves remarkable atmospheric depth, suggesting the careful calibration of luminaire selection and placement to enhance nocturnal experience—a consideration increasingly recognized as essential to successful contemporary landscape practice. The integration of substantial specimen trees speaks to horticultural ambition and long-term vision, providing immediate spatial enclosure while promising continued maturation of the living systems that will increasingly soften the architectural boundaries over time. The work invites consideration of how landscape design mediates between the vertical density of contemporary urban habitation and the fundamental human desire for connection to natural systems, water, and planted environment—perhaps prompting viewers to reflect upon their own relationship to designed nature within increasingly urbanized contexts.

Unique Properties
There are rich altitude difference relationships in the site, and the platforms strew randomly among buildings in the site, forming a three-dimensional landscape space of LCC Plot 05. In addition, the site is configured with a lot of outdoor activity space, a large outdoor swimming pool and interesting children's playground.
Dimensions & Packaging
The project covers a total of 87044 square meters.

Production Technology
In the stage of design, magnificent waterfall combines glass with regular hollow steel plates, so that water flows along one side of the glass. Through gradually hollowing out the steel plates, the dynamic effect of light and water flows is formed, and visual and sensual feelings are enriched.
Design Challenge
The rotary garden is full of visual effects in an extremely simple environment where materials are closely combined with plants. Being natural is the principle and footstone to create all the things. The combination of geometric and organic elements creates a room for orderly and natural elements. As the leading image, the curves integrate, divide and organize the space, which links to the surrounding environment instead of mutual contradiction.
Project Duration
The project started in November 2016 in Shenzhen and finished in November 2019 in Shenzhen.
Operation Flow
Taking the Tree of Life as the origin, 3D buildings apply different landscape compositions, for example, the seeds of the Tree of Life on the planet of Pandora scatter over the plant, so that descendants are multiplied, and every life and soul on the planet are linked through the root.
Research
As an open public space and important distributing place, LCC Park on Plot 07 is the main interface facing the city. In the design, the design team constructs the framework of the space through growing plants in the streamline shape and scatters the landscape installations in different shapes over various corners, which forms a fancy and fantastic scene.
Inspiration
The project takes "Show" as the theme to integrate urban supporting facilities, facility resources and landscape designs. The design aims to construct the space for business and leisure activities and outdoor halls of creative culture, create the public space combining nature and art and integrating entertainment and appreciation and build a park tallying with the general concept of business and leisure.
