About Lipton Avant Garde Special Art Edition Beverage
Lipton Avant Garde Special Art Edition is a collection of miniature cans for iced tea. Each can holds 250 ml and is light and easy to carry, and the format is the first miniature can in the iced tea category in Russia. The graphics draw on Russian Avant Garde art movements, including Suprematism, Abstractionism and Cubo Futurism. Separate designs are paired with the peach, lemon and green tea flavors. The collection is sold only in Russia. The aim is to make the brand noticed on the shelf in a crowded category.
PepsiCo Design and Innovation's Lipton Avant Garde Special Art Edition Beverage emerges from a rich tradition of artistic collaboration between commercial enterprise and creative expression, positioning itself within the lineage of limited edition packaging that transforms everyday consumer objects into desirable cultural artifacts. The design team appears to have drawn profound inspiration from the revolutionary visual vocabularies developed by early twentieth-century avant-garde movements, particularly the geometric dynamism of Constructivism and the pure abstraction of Suprematism, movements that themselves sought to democratize art and bring aesthetic innovation into daily life. Each variant within the collection presents a distinct compositional interpretation while maintaining cohesive visual language through consistent use of bold primary hues, diagonal trajectories, and the interplay of geometric primitives against contrasting grounds. The technical execution demonstrates sophisticated understanding of how two-dimensional graphic systems translate onto three-dimensional cylindrical surfaces, with patterns engineered to maintain visual coherence as forms wrap around the vessel while acknowledging the distortions inherent to curved substrates. Particularly noteworthy is the integration of citrus imagery, rendered in stylized graphic form that bridges representational product communication with abstract artistic expression, these organic forms providing warmth and accessibility within the otherwise rigorous geometric framework. The alternation between dark-ground and light-ground compositions within the collection creates visual variety while enabling effective shelf presence as a unified family, suggesting strategic consideration of both individual impact and collective display. The typographic elements, rendered in Cyrillic script, contribute additional graphic texture while grounding the design within specific cultural coordinates, the letterforms themselves treated as compositional elements rather than mere information carriers. Viewers might contemplate how this edition celebrates the enduring relevance of historical artistic innovations while demonstrating their continued capacity to generate fresh visual excitement in contemporary commercial contexts.

- Inspiration
- Lipton Special Art Edition is a unique collection of 250 ml miniature cans, available only in Russia, devoted to the Russian Avant Garde. The design team was inspired by some of the most distinctive art movements such as Suprematism, Abstractionism and Cubo Futurism to reimagine Lipton packaging. The resulting unique and category breaking designs were then paired with each of Liptons peach, lemon and green tea flavors.
