About Lesly Coat Rack
Lesly is a series of coat racks designed for home use. The Lesly series includes a wall-mounted model and a freestanding model, both based on carbon steel for strong load bearing. Separate areas are provided for clothes and for scarves, so garments are less likely to wrinkle or slip off. The hooks of the freestanding coat rack rotate 360 degrees, which eases the hanging of clothes and accessories. Rounded forms improve safety for children. The shapes are drawn from leaves and dewdrops, and dewdrop elements act as hanging points.
Ziel Home Furnishing Technology Co., Ltd's Lesly Coat Rack participates in a distinguished lineage of vertical standing furniture that traces its conceptual ancestry through mid-twentieth-century explorations of form following function while embracing the expressive potential of saturated color characteristic of later design movements. The work demonstrates sophisticated understanding of how a utilitarian domestic object might transcend mere functionality to become an active participant in interior atmospheres, with each chromatic variant offering distinct environmental possibilities ranging from the contemplative depth of ultramarine to the energetic warmth of vermillion. Technical execution reveals meticulous attention to proportion and rhythm, the regularly spaced hook elements creating visual cadence along the vertical axis while their angled projection introduces dynamic tension against the static central column. The loop-form hook design merits particular attention for its elegant resolution of practical and aesthetic concerns, the continuous wire form eliminating sharp terminations that might damage garments while creating rhythmic oval negative spaces that contribute to the overall lightness of the composition. Material choices evidence contemporary manufacturing sensibilities, with apparent powder-coated or lacquered metal construction achieving both durability appropriate to daily use and the pristine surface quality demanded by design-conscious consumers. The presentation of four distinct colorways arranged in deliberate sequence suggests an understanding of how product systems function within varied interior contexts, from the recessive sophistication of black to the bold chromatic statement of primary hues. - We designed these coat racks because traditional hooks have small load-bearing surfaces, which can easily lead to clothes wrinkling and falling off. By observing hanging characteristics and stress patterns, we designed separate areas for hanging clothes and scarves to ensure versatility, while prioritizing safety and child-friendliness, all incorporating rounded elements. After repeated prototyping and testing, the product was ready for launch.

- Research
- After extensive research, we discovered some usability issues and limitations with the main design and hook design of traditional coat racks, such as single functionality, causing garment deformation, clothes easily slipping off, and severe homogenization in appearance. The birth of Lesly can address the challenges of garment hanging with its innovative dual-use design concept, improving both product and space utilization. A stylish coat rack like Lesly can bring happiness to life, with its rotating hook design allowing for multiple purposes, effortlessly handling items of all sizes.

- The design inspiration for the Lesly series coat racks is drawn from nature's leaves and dewdrops. Leaves symbolize the continuation of life and the vibrant vitality of greenery, while dewdrops are nature's gift, shimmering like precious gems.
