About Imetec Pro I25 Professional Coffee Machine

Imetec Pro I25 is a professional coffee machine designed for bars and restaurants. Two independent coffee groups keep service running: if one group stops, the other continues to work. A patented brewing circuit uses fresh water for every extraction to prevent stagnation. Thermopulse PID control stabilizes the brewing temperature, and a patented anti-scale system protects the internal circuits. The body is made of laser-cut and bent stainless steel sheets. A central opening separates the control area from the mechanical core and opens the view toward the customer.

Nicola Zanetti's Professional Coffee Machine exemplifies the sophisticated convergence of industrial heritage and contemporary precision engineering within the specialized domain of professional beverage equipment design. This dual-group apparatus emerges from a distinguished lineage of espresso machine craftsmanship, wherein the functional imperatives of commercial hospitality environments demand unwavering attention to thermal stability, operational efficiency, and ergonomic accessibility. The composition demonstrates masterful command of material expression, deploying mirror-polished stainless steel as both functional substrate and aesthetic statement, its reflective surfaces simultaneously communicating hygienic durability and visual refinement. The integration of digital temperature monitoring systems within traditional cylindrical brew head forms represents a thoughtful synthesis of technological advancement with established operational conventions, allowing professional baristas to maintain precise extraction parameters while working within familiar gestural vocabularies. Chromatic restraint characterizes the overall palette, with the cool silver tonality establishing professional authority while strategic deployment of warm amber display numerals and the traditional white-faced pressure gauge introduce measured visual interest without compromising the machine's serious functional identity. The bilateral organization of brewing stations reflects both operational logic and visual harmony, enabling simultaneous preparation sequences while presenting a balanced, architecturally resolved frontal elevation. Surface finish hierarchies demonstrate sophisticated understanding of how material treatments communicate functional zones: high-polish panels suggest primary structural integrity, satin finishes indicate secondary functional elements, and matte polymer surfaces denote direct-contact control interfaces requiring tactile grip and visual differentiation. The apparatus invites contemplation of how contemporary industrial designers negotiate between heritage craft traditions and emerging technological capabilities, raising productive questions about the evolving material culture of professional hospitality environments and the enduring human rituals surrounding coffee preparation.

Production Technology
The machine is manufactured using a robust structure based primarily on laser-cut and precision-bent stainless steel sheets, ensuring strength, durability, and ease of assembly. This approach reduces the number of components while maintaining high structural rigidity. Only a limited number of parts are produced in injection-molded ABS, mainly for functional interfaces and protective elements. This balanced combination of metal fabrication and minimal polymer components optimizes production efficiency, improves serviceability, and ensures long-term reliability in demanding professional environments.
Design Challenge
The project faced the challenge of preserving the original design vision while adapting it to the constraints of industrial production technologies. The dynamic form and central opening required careful engineering to be realized through sheet metal cutting and bending without compromising structural integrity. Continuous collaboration between design and engineering allowed the team to maintain the distinctive aesthetic while ensuring manufacturability, reliability, and efficiency in a professional coffee machine.
Project Duration
from October 2024 to October 2025 in Italy
Operation Flow
The machine integrates several patented technologies to ensure reliability and performance in professional environments. A patented brewing system uses fresh water for every extraction, eliminating stagnation and guaranteeing consistent flavor. The Thermopulse PID temperature control stabilizes brewing conditions, while a patented anti-scale system protects internal circuits and extends durability. Independent coffee groups ensure operational continuity, and intelligent energy management optimizes power consumption during use.
Research
The project was developed through close collaboration between the industrial design team, an experienced technical team specialized in professional coffee machines, and a dedicated graphical interface design team. This multidisciplinary approach enabled the integration of advanced brewing technologies, optimized mechanical architecture, and an intuitive user interface. Continuous exchanges between engineering, design, and UX development ensured functional reliability, efficiency, and a coherent interaction experience for professional baristas.
Inspiration
The design is inspired by a sense of dynamic tension and openness, expressing both technological precision and human interaction. The central opening is a defining element: it visually separates the user interface and control area from the mechanical core of the machine, clarifying functions while improving accessibility. At the same time, this architectural gesture creates a visual opening toward the customer, enhancing the relationship between barista, machine and client.
