About Dandelion and Wishes Wall Art Decor
The masterpiece wall art "Dandelion and Wishes" is a collection of Resin bowls and plates created by the artist Mahnaz Karimi specializing in Abstract Art, Resin Art, and Fluid Art. It is created and formed in such a way to show her inspiration of nature and dandelion seeds. The light and transparent colors applied in this artwork are white, the color of dandelion, gray showing dimension and shades, and gold reflecting the sunlight. The way the pieces are installed on the wall can best depict the sense of floating, flying, and freedom, which are the unique features of dandelions.
Press Kit
- Unique Properties
- My artwork is a mixture of the unique features of two arts, sculpture and painting, since it has the volume and dimension featured in statues as well as texture and color combinations which can be seen in paintings.
Another important feature is the installation. The pieces are installed in a way to convey a suspension and floating feeling.
The colors used are gray, white and gold. White, the color of dandelions, gray showing dimension and shades and gold reflecting the sun light. - Dimensions & Packaging
- The pieces are 20 cm, 30 cm, 40 cm and 50 cm in diameter.
The size of the whole collection is varied depending on the number of pieces installed.
"Dandelion and Wishes" is 3 m X 1.5 m. - Tags

- Production Technology
- Powdered pigments, paste pigments and ink colors are mixed with a ratio of one-to-two of resin hardener and epoxy resin and are poured to the silicon molds. Three layers of resin are used to have better shades and volume in the plates. After resin gets elastic (after about 6 hours), resin plates are taken out of molds (de-molded) and get formed and designed by hand to create desired shapes, sizes and depths. Therefore, each piece has a unique shape, depth and form.
- Design Challenge
- Changing the function of resin from flat paintings and trays to three dimensional artworks was the challenging part of my production process.
Another challenge was the way I should install them to better convey the message I had in mind. - Project Duration
- The project started in December 2019 in Tehran. It took each piece 24 hours to be totally dry, therefore the whole collection finished in January 2020. The whole project will have been finished by September 2020 to be donated to UNESCO.
- Operation Flow
- The pieces can be installed in various ways to depict different ideas and concepts. Fasteners with 10 cm length are used to show dimension and light reflections better.
- Research
- The tools used are various Pigment Colors, Ink Pigments and Paste Pigments, Epoxy Resin, Hardener, Molds, Heat Gun and Torch.
The applications and software used are Circle Cutter, InstaSize, Inshot and Painter. - Inspiration
- It has always been my concern to make an artwork which makes my audience contemplate besides creating beauty in art, to spark the idea of idealism (Utopia) in the audiences' mind in the modern world. Dandelion, which is an element of nature, symbolizes happiness for children and the best message of happiness for children is a world without war. The whole collection will be donated as a peace Wall Art to UNESCO on September 21 (The International Day of Peace) when the dandelions reach the number 195 (The number of the countries in the world).

Design Interview about Dandelion and Wishes Wall Art Decor
The main inspiration comes from the nature. My purpose of "Dandelion and Wishes" was not specifically a wall art decor, but to have a message and story behind to influence the audience so that they can see both the exterior beauty and get a good and spiritual feeling.

Each Dandelion seed is representative of a country in the world. Once the seeds reach the number of the countries in the world, the whole wall art is going to be donated to UNESCO to be the messenger of peace and freedom from all countries to children and people in the world.
It took me six months.
This design was not commissioned. After I installed the plates on the wall, I got a sense of freedom and flying in it.
This design has not been done or performed with resin. After I posted my artwork, there may be some artists who tried to create a similar work.
I always tried to give dimension and volume to resin, make it raised and to a sculpture . My concern was to make flat resin raised and dimensional.
Dale Chihuly's designs had a great effect on me.

The effect of color on this design which conveys meanings. The deformed shapes to give a sense of rotation and flying.
Since I was looking for a sense of lightness and flying, the first thing that comes to my mind was Dandelion. And dandelions are symbols of happiness messages every where in the world and we wish on dandelions, therefore, I decided to have the name "Dandelion and Wishes" for my design.
I used resin materials, molds and pigments to create such a work.
Having interior beauty, as well as having an inner message is the unique aspect of my work.
I worked with a team helping me on making molds.
Resin is an industrial material made by the present technologies and then entered the world of art.
Providing high quality resin and installing the pieces on the wall were the challenges.
My first purpose was to be seen internationally and I also would like to donate it to UNESCO with the help of Adesign.
Every piece of work I created was a world of experience to me. But I mostly learn that the world of colors and art is limitless and without boundaries.
