About Creative Trade Mark Raw Honey
The Botanic is a packaging design for raw honey presented in a 380 ml glass jar. The label is made of dark green uncoated paper and is shaped by multi-level debossing and a die-cut hexagon, a form that recalls the honeycomb. Matte silkscreen and clear gloss foil elements add contrast to the dark background. A double-sided folded hangtag carries the product description. Each jar is closed with a wooden lid made by hand from linden wood, the tree whose nectar is gathered by the bees. The design reflects the purity of the raw honey.
Within the contemporary landscape of artisanal food packaging, Zanas Karenauskas's Creative Trade Mark Raw Honey emerges as a distinguished example of how material selection, typographic refinement, and geometric symbolism can coalesce to communicate product authenticity and premium quality. The design demonstrates sophisticated understanding of how natural materials establish trust and provenance, employing solid oak closures that introduce warmth and tactile appeal while suggesting traditional craft methods and sustainable sourcing considerations. The hexagonal vessel form represents a thoughtful departure from conventional cylindrical honey containers, directly referencing the geometric architecture of the honeycomb from which the product originates, thus creating immediate visual poetry between container and contents. The chromatic strategy employs deep forest green as the primary label ground, a hue traditionally associated with botanical abundance, natural purity, and environmental consciousness, establishing psychological foundations of freshness and organic integrity before any text is read. Metallic gold typography introduces associations of value, refinement, and precious character appropriate to a premium consumable, while the elegant combination of serif letterforms with delicate secondary text demonstrates hierarchical sophistication characteristic of established luxury traditions. The secondary hexagonal element, bearing detailed line illustrations of beekeeping equipment and botanical elements rendered in gold against the same deep green ground, functions as both decorative flourish and informational device, rewarding close examination with narrative details about production methods and honey varieties. Perhaps most remarkably, the design achieves its considerable visual impact through restraint, allowing negative space, material authenticity, and careful proportion to communicate rather than relying upon elaborate decoration or visual complexity. Viewers might contemplate how the packaging succeeds in making visible the invisible qualities of its contents: purity, craft, and connection to natural processes that transform flower nectar into golden sweetness.

- Unique Properties
- The Botanic - A wildly impossible, natural raw honey made from imaginative minds with unrealistic expectations for quality and taste.
The packaging design concept is based on simplicity and respect for the raw materials. The label design incorporates a hexagon shape, a shape found in nature (like hexagonal snowflakes) and very reminiscent of the honeycomb. The hexagonal shape is prevalent in nature and it's considered the strongest shape known. - Dimensions & Packaging

- Inspiration
- The aim of this packaging was to create a design that would announce its own individuality while keeping to the high quality standards and general concept of the natural honey purity. We wanted to show that the packaging reflects true balance between human and nature. To create such a feeling, we needed the special key. And the main key is the wooden lid. Each one lid are made individually by human hand from natural linden tree, whose nectar is so generously shared by bees in this jar.
