About Courtyard NO.1 Sales Office

The architectural concept is based on the artistic supremacism that reflected the social and technological changes of the 1920s, with the intention of expressing the mutual influence and interdependence between physical and virtual space in the digital age. As a reflection of the real world, this project attempts to look beyond a single function of the sales office through improved design, so that it can enhance the quality of public life and lead people strive for a better future and make a positive contribution to the community.

Qun Wen's Courtyard NO.1 Sales Office exemplifies the contemporary tendency toward architecture as experiential spectacle, wherein the commercial sales environment transcends mere functional enclosure to become a spatial narrative of aspiration and wonder. The design demonstrates sophisticated engagement with the phenomenological tradition in architectural thought, where material presence dissolves through strategic deployment of transparency, reflection, and choreographed illumination. The curtain wall system, rendered in precisely modulated vertical rhythms, functions simultaneously as protective envelope and theatrical scrim, revealing carefully curated interior vignettes that suggest the lifestyle possibilities awaiting prospective residents. The luminous ovoid portal, perhaps the composition's most arresting formal gesture, may reference traditional moon gate iconography filtered through contemporary parametric sensibilities, creating a threshold between everyday commercial transaction and imaginative projection. The reflecting pool, a time-honored device in architectural composition from ancient civilizations through Renaissance villas to contemporary corporate campuses, here achieves particular poetic resonance by doubling the twilight spectacle into infinite regression. The chromatic strategy demonstrates accomplished understanding of complementary color dynamics, with warm amber-gold illumination establishing dialogue with cool violet-magenta accents across the glazed expanse. Interior sculptural installations in vivid vermillion suggest vitality and dynamism within the otherwise serene container, introducing organic counterpoint to architectural rationality. The composition rewards sustained contemplation, inviting viewers to consider how architecture might construct desire, how spatial experience communicates brand values, and how the boundary between built reality and reflected illusion speaks to broader questions of perception and presence.

Production Technology
Stainless steel metal panels with different reflectivity are used in the space, giving different objects a variety of colour and forming a rich interaction between people and space, objects, light, images, colours and materials. Visitors will experience different changes of light and shadow at every moment. The building facade is made of ultra white glass which makes objects, spaces, material and colour from the interior visible to the outside space.
Design Challenge
The purpose of this project is to reconsider the special function of the sales office building, in hopes of making it more sustainable through design, by becoming a symbolic public building for the future community and city.
Project Duration
The project started in April 2016 in Heze City, Shandong,China and was completed in April 2019.
Operation Flow
The designer adopted high criteria for every single detail. Try to collaborate the client and the management company, and to monitor the construction site frequently to make sure the project was on the right track. With respect to the choice of features and materials for the design and furnishings, the designer took into account of being sustainable and environmentally-friendly .
Research
As the development and urbanization of China continues, property developers have begun to expand into new markets such as third and fourth tier cities. Sales offices have become an important conduit for them to demonstrate their strength and design philosophy of the brand. These offices are not only community activity centers and lounge areas for client communication, but also a promotional window to attract more clients to buy properties. After most of the properties have been sold, however, the usefulness of these offices declines.
Inspiration
In the digital age, many actions are performed in the virtual world nowadays. Therefore, the objects in the building are designed to float in an unstable state, welcoming the surrounding audiences with an open dynamic posture.
