The construction has a core of cross-layered carbonized horizontal bamboo layers as well as thick top and bottom layers that give the board an incredible strength. The sizing also means that the furniture can handle a weight of up to a minimum of 120 kilos. The design combines CNC machining with classic craftsmanship.
Thử Thách Thiết Kế: The challenge we have with the project is whether we should go from true craftmanship to produce on a larger scale. On a larger scale, e.g. 20 to 100 copies, this means CNC cutting and assemblies adjusted accordingly. We are prepared. A full-scale prototype has been drawn, specially adjusted after full CNC cutting.

The bamboo plant sprouts new growth when it is felled – for up to eight decades. Bamboo contains natural tannins and phenols that provide antibacterial properties which withstand rot and bacterial invasion. Therefore, bamboo is interesting for production with care without using pesticides that have an environmental impact.

Thời Gian Dự Án: The project started in August 2020 in Copenhagen. After a number of sketches, I teamed up with my highly skilled woodmaker – in the development of the first prototype. It was corrected in thickness of furniture board, adjusted in dimensions of legs at the seat. Which means the furniture is a very strong construction. The design has been adjusted from classic to a new interpretation, shown for example in the seat.
