Таҳқиқот: The spirit of the tea ceremony is the spirit of "omotenashi" (hospitality). The purpose of the tea ceremony is not to drink tea, but to “entertain” the guest through the act of drinking tea. For this purpose, everything in the tea room, from the entrance, to the alcove, hanging scrolls, flowers, incense, clothing, and various manners, are mobilized to provide hospitality.
Илҳом: The tea ceremony is not only a ritual of tea, but also a way to entertain guests with tea. The guest is also a part of the creation of the tea ceremony.
We design the tea ceremony room for this mentality.
The rule we decided on was to use Japanese materials but not to assemble them in a Japanese way. The tea ceremony room is constructed of veneer plywood made of rush, the material used for tatami, and a cloth soaked with images that change interactively to create a psychological boundaries.
