Ngeunaan Arch Korsi, Korsi Tanpa Sandaran

Arch nyaéta korsi jeung tempat diuk tanpa sandaran anu dijieun tina kayu pinus laminasi anu diukir sarta diwarnaan hideung. Desain ieu dumasar kana wangun jeung bentuk anu basajan tur diulang-ulang, anu masihan ekspresi anu homogen jeung logis kana perabot ieu. Lima lengkung anu identik ngawangun suku jeung sandaran korsi, sedengkeun tempat diuk tanpa sandaran dijieun tina tilu satengah lengkung anu papanggih di tengah. Sadaya bagian dipotong tina palat kayu laminasi ngagunakeun CNC router, tuluy dilem sarta disambungkeun ku pasak kayu. Sipat Unik: Chair and stool made out of carved and black stained laminated pine wood. The design is based on simple and repetitive forms, rules and shapes that gives the furniture a simple, homogenous and logic expression. Five identical arches create the legs and backrest of the chair, while a stool is made by three half arches that connect in the center.
Diménsi & Bungkusan: All parts are made from a laminated wooden plate, 26mm thick.

Téknologi Produksi: Laminated pine wood, carved with a CNC router, glued together and stained black. The chair backrest is reinforced with a wooden piece along the top, laid with opposite fiber direction. The curves of the chair strengthen the chair at its most fragile points. The pieces of the chair and stool are connected with wooden dowels and glue.
Tantangan Desain: To find the correct proportions, fitting within the size of the laminated wooden board, and at the same time creating interesting shapes that look well from all sides. The use of only 90 degree connections, has made it extra important to find the correct sizes. It has also been a challenge to find the point of construction where the chair is stable enough without looking over-dimensioned.
Panalungtikan: The aim for the project has been to create furniture with simple means of production. The use of CNC carved wood, was early decided as a production method, and has affected the design, which uses the advantages of CNC (curved shapes), without creating a piece of furniture that looks like it came from a CNC machine.
Inspirasi: The project was developed by trying to create a simple and characteristic piece of furniture with the use of cost-effective and simple production methods and materials. Without access to a full scale workshop, CNC routing allowed to prefabricate the furniture with low cost, high precision and the possibility of creating curved shapes
Durasi Proyék: The project started in march 2020 - and finished in late May 2020.
Alur Operasi: The design breaks down the chair into its main components - legs, seat and backrest - and treats them as equally as possible by repeating and using the same dimensions, shapes, materials, joints and surfaces.
