- Theknoloji ya Tlhahiso
- The concept envisions a molded plywood shell with natural veneer to achieve both strength and sculptural form. Cushions are proposed in high-density foam with textile upholstery to ensure comfort and durability. A cast aluminum swivel base provides stability and flexibility. The realization would rely on CNC machining for precision, combined with traditional upholstery techniques to highlight craftsmanship within a contemporary production framework.
- Phephetso ya Moralo
- The main challenge was uniting ergonomic comfort with a sculptural identity while keeping the design feasible for production. Internally, balancing proportions and ensuring posture support demanded continuous refinement. Externally, limits of material behavior, sustainable sourcing, and potential manufacturing methods shaped the design. Overcoming these obstacles led to a concept that harmonizes function, aesthetics, and future production possibilities.
- Dipatlisiso
- This research was conceptual design research aimed at creating a lounge chair that merges ergonomics with sculptural form. The objective was to study posture and material potential. Methodology included digital modeling and ergonomic analysis, using 3D software as main tools. Participants were posture studies and design simulations. Results showed the value of fluid proportions, leading to insights on comfort and aesthetics. The impact highlights how design can enhance well being and enrich furniture culture.
- Kgothaletso
- Inspired by the harmony between nature and modern living, this design draws from the organic fluidity of wood and the softness of upholstered comfort. The concept emerged from a study of human posture and the desire to merge ergonomics with sculptural elegance. Research into traditional craftsmanship and contemporary production methods informed the balance of warmth, durability, and precision, creating a timeless piece that invites both rest and reflection.
- Nako ya Projeke
- The project Start in May 2025 in New York and finished July 2025
- Tsamaiso ya Mosebetsi
- The chair is designed to invite relaxation through intuitive use. Its gently reclined form and supportive cushions naturally adapt to the body, while the swivel base allows smooth movement without effort. The accompanying ottoman extends comfort, encouraging a full resting posture.
