This project is designed as a private executive office that also accommodates short term residential use. Concealed doors maintain the perception of a formal workspace while connecting residential areas. Dark matte surfaces highlight copper elements referencing the clients involvement in copper trade. Mirrors on wall surfaces and behind the bar distribute the panoramic Istanbul view across the interior. A handmade mosaic wall in the guest restroom is reflected through a mirror, visually expanding the space.

The project is a 120 sqm executive office residence designed to accommodate work, meetings and temporary accommodation. The original ceiling height of 260 cm was reconfigured by removing suspended ceiling layers, increasing the height to 320 cm. The interior features custom designed furniture, wood and slatted wall claddings, concealed wooden doors and glazed copper framed doors. Materials include natural marble flooring, laminated parquet and solid copper transition profiles.

The interior was realized through custom designed furniture, concealed door systems and integrated smart automation systems. Materials such as natural marble, laminated parquet flooring and solid copper transition profiles were carefully combined to emphasize spatial hierarchy. A smart automation system controls floor lighting, sun responsive motorized curtains and air purification devices, enabling flexible lighting, privacy and environmental comfort throughout the space.

The main challenge was transforming a 120 sqm space into a hybrid environment functioning both as an executive office and a residential suite. Maintaining a strong office identity while integrating private living areas required careful spatial planning. Concealed doors, flexible layouts and material transitions were developed to preserve the formal office atmosphere while discreetly accommodating residential functions.
ᱜᱚᱵᱮᱥᱚᱱᱟ
Design research combined spatial analysis and user centered evaluation. The objective was to develop a hybrid executive office that could also support temporary residential use. Layout simulations, material studies and lighting tests were conducted during the design process. Observations of the clients workflow and meeting habits informed the spatial program. The result is a flexible environment balancing privacy, work efficiency and residential comfort.

The project was inspired by the clients involvement in the copper trade and the need for a refined environment where business meetings could take place outside the factory setting. The project combines the atmosphere of an executive office with the comfort of a private suite. Dark tones, copper details and framed city views shape a spatial identity that supports both professional use and temporary residential functions. The name Cu 29 refers to copper through its symbol and atomic number.

The project started in May 2025 in Istanbul, Turkey and was completed in August 2025. The interior was designed and realized within a residential tower located in the Fairmont Quasar complex.

The space is organized to function primarily as an executive office. Upon entry, a glazed partition door frames the city view, creating a strong first impression. The layout enables smooth transitions between reception, meeting and lounge areas for business use. Concealed doors discreetly connect the kitchen and private rooms, allowing the space to transform into a comfortable residential suite when longer stays are required.
