This project reinterprets Istanbul's layered urban identity through a bold, experiential interior. Conceived as a dynamic spatial collage, it dissolves boundaries between lobby, bar, and lounge to create a continuous social landscape. Strong chromatic contrasts, integrated graphics, and a refined balance of industrial and warm materials define its character, transforming urban energy into a structured yet vibrant spatial experience.
ᱢᱟᱯ ᱟᱨ ᱯᱮᱠᱮᱡᱤᱝ
The project covers approximately 3,500 square meter of interior space. Floor-to-ceiling height varies between 3,200 mm and 4,500 mm in public areas, and 2,800 mm in guest rooms. Modular partitions are designed on a 1,200 mm grid system. Custom millwork elements range between 600–900 mm depth. Integrated LED lighting operates at 3000K–3500K. Acoustic panels (40 mm thickness) and reinforced lightweight steel substructures ensure structural and acoustic performance.

The project was developed through an adaptive reuse approach based on detailed site analysis and circulation studies. Existing structural elements were preserved and strengthened, while new interventions were implemented using lightweight steel framing and modular systems. Custom-made joinery and precision-cut panels ensured accuracy in execution. Layered lighting scenarios were integrated to enhance spatial depth, material contrast, and overall user experience.
ᱰᱤᱡᱟᱭᱱ ᱪᱮᱞᱮᱧ
The primary creative challenge was balancing Beyoglu’s historic architectural shell with a bold contemporary identity. Preserving structural traces while meeting current building codes, fire regulations, and acoustic standards required precise coordination. Integrating expressive colors and graphics without overwhelming the existing fabric was another key obstacle. Limited intervention zones and structural constraints demanded innovative detailing and lightweight construction solutions to achieve spatial fluidity without compromising heritage value.

Type of Research: Applied spatial and urban context research.
Research Objectives: To translate Beyoglu’s social energy and layered history into an experiential interior.
Methodology: Site observation, circulation analysis, and adaptive reuse strategy development.
Data Collection and Research Tools Used: On-site mapping, photographic documentation, user flow diagrams, and material studies.
Participants or Experiments: Design team workshops and user scenario simulations.
Results: A fluid, interaction-driven layout.
Insights and Impacts: Demonstrated how urban dynamics can inform interior identity.
Effect in Real-Life: Enhances user engagement, supports business vitality, and promotes culturally responsive design.
ᱯᱨᱮᱨᱚᱱᱟ
The project draws inspiration from Istanbul's layered history and dynamic urban rhythm. Street life, cultural contrasts, and the coexistence of past and present informed the concept. Research into adaptive reuse and experiential circulation guided a layout that dissolves boundaries and encourages interaction, translating the district’s vibrant energy into a cohesive architectural narrative.
ᱯᱨᱚᱡᱮᱠᱴ ᱥᱚᱢᱚᱭ
The project started in March 2023 in Istanbul and was completed in March 2025 in Beyoglu, Istanbul. The realization process included site analysis, concept development, detailed design, and on-site implementation phases carried out in coordination with consultants and contractors.

The space is designed to be intuitive and fluid. Visitors naturally move between lobby, bar, lounge, and retail without strict boundaries, experiencing the interior as a continuous social environment. Shifts in color, light, and material subtly guide circulation. Public areas encourage interaction and spontaneity, while guest rooms provide calm retreat. This balance allows the project to adapt to different tempos throughout the day, enhancing comfort and engagement.
