The design abandons fixed partitions in favor of a decentralized landscape where every zone holds its own character. A central structural column serves as the spatial axis, organizing a radial order of movement. Visual elements such as structural features, rotating art walls, and furniture arrangements transform solid boundaries into fluid interfaces. Saturated orange serves as a gallery like visual tone, creating a strong contrast with the blue based artworks and ensuring spatial stability.

To manifest dynamic boundaries, the project employs folded metal panels and white finishes to mimic organic geometric diffusion. The exposed ceiling exhibits a raw structural aesthetic, contrasting with the precision of metal craftsmanship. Curvilinear solid wood flooring reinforces the language of flow. With structural engineer verification, diagonal seismic elements are intentionally left exposed, transforming a hidden structural necessity into a distinctive geometric aesthetic.

The main challenge was balancing privacy within an open framework. The master bathroom uses half height walls and mirrors to create psychological enclosure through visual reflection. Achieving the precision of the folded metal panels required manual calibration piece by piece after initial attempts failed. Furthermore, exposing the seismic structure required rigorous safety verification to transform a concealed building element into a powerful geometric symbol of resilience.

This project offers a highly flexible and sustainable model for high density urban housing. By maintaining the original structural framework and maximizing natural daylight, material consumption and energy demand are significantly reduced. The research focuses on how deconstructing traditional boundaries can foster psychological freedom while remaining environmentally conscious. Choosing durable classic furniture translates aesthetic needs into a sustainable practice for future living.

Animitta translates a profound philosophical concept into a tangible spatial identity system. This project reimagines traditional residential models for a client with a background in art and wine appreciation. By deconstructing conventional boundaries, the design redefines spatial elements as communicative symbols. The goal is to transform abstract ideas into a distinct, freely flowing residential brand that offers a visionary lifestyle proposition for contemporary urban living.

The project is located in Taichung, Taiwan and was completed in May 2023 after one year of work.

Circulation follows a continuous loop anchored by a central column. Functions are defined by curatorial furniture, allowing behavioral scenarios to generate boundaries. A rotating art wall enables public and private areas to shift between open and secluded states. Lighting strategy prioritizes natural daylight to articulate volume. While the layout is extremely open, a guest suite for the elderly parent is discreetly enclosed to ensure a balance between openness and human centered privacy.
