Coral es una teiera facha a man inspirada de las formas e texturas complèxas dels corals marins. L'ansa unica permet de tenir la teiera dins totas las direccions, per dessús, a esquèrra o a dreita, çò que reflectís las nombrosas manièras que las diferentas culturas an de tenir una teiera. Un cròs a l'arrièr del còrs permet de pinçar e levar la teiera. Lo dessenh del cobèrcle es integrat dins l'ansa, de manièra que las linhas ondejan a l'entorn de tota la forma. Coral es fach en terralha construcha a rotlèu, modificada, esculpida e texturada, acabada amb un vernís shino e cuècha per oxidacion.

Proprietats Unicas: Coral-inspired, this teapot has a single handle that effectively encompasses handling the teapot from all directions (overhead, left or right) and is inclusive of the myriad of ways different cultures handle a teapot. The indent at the back of the pot allows the pot to be pinched and lifted. Incorporating the lid's design into the handle, the lines of the teapot pleasingly flows around the whole form.

Tecnologia de Produccion: Coil-constructed, altered, carved and textured earthenware; shino glaze, oxidation fired (1200°C)
Desaffo de Dissènh: The most challenging part was constructing the handle. Clay being a soft and malleable material prior firing made it difficult to maintain and keep the overhead handle in position. The highly intricate coral texture of the teapot also required a lot of meticulous work.
Inspiracion: As a child, I loved visiting the beach with my family. Picking seashells and exploring the corals that were washed on the shores was my favourite pastime. Memories of these happy moments have always stayed firmly with me. Inspired by the intricacy and elegant details on corals, I created the series "Coral - Rhythm of the Seas", to commemorate the wonderful times of my childhood.
Durada del Projècte: Started in January 2013 and finished in February 2013.
Flux Operacional: With its single handle, this teapot can effectively be handled from all directions (overhead, left or right). It embraces a culturally myriad of ways of handling a teapot.
