Eastern Institute for Advanced Study er et interiørdesignprosjekt for undervisningsbygningene til et teknologiinstitutt i Ningbo. Designet dekker 1,5 millioner kvadratmeter. Hver bygning har en særegen karakter. Ingeniørbygningen bruker opphengte ståltrådnett og veggmekanismer for å skape et industrielt preg. Fakultetet for livsvitenskap integrerer planter. Informasjonsbygningen bruker metalliske materialer og interaktive installasjoner. Fleksible møbler og tilpasningsdyktige undervisningsområder støtter et åpent og samarbeidsorientert læringsmiljø.

Unike Egenskaper: Mr. Yu Renrong, a reputed entrepreneur, has collaborated with the Zhejiang Provincial Government and the Ningbo Municipal Government to establish the Eastern Institute of Technology, Ningbo. This institution aims to cultivate exceptional scientific and technological talent and aspires to be a prestigious century old university on a global scale. The interior design team has adhered to, and will incorporate the principles of a classic century old campus in the design of each teaching building.

Produksjonsteknologi: The design varies from building to building. The Engineering Building features robust mechanized elements such as suspended steel wire gauze and wall mechanisms to confer an industrial feel,the School of Life Sciences integrates ecological plants to liven the atmosphere lively,and the Information Building renders a technological ambiance through the use of metallic materials and interactive information installations.
Designutfordring: In line with the specific needs of the institution, the design is advised to distinguish itself and adhere to the principles of establishing a long lasting prestigious institution. This calls upon the efforts to fulfill the fundamental design criteria and execute a creative design approach benchmarked to the standards of a top tier university. The design team spent a lot of time in preparing and revising creative solutions.
Forskning: In the predesign phase, the team conducted an extensive analysis of typical campus cases at home and abroad. These works include surveying comparable institutions, identifying key strengths and challenges in their designs, and examining material options suited for the geographical and climatic contexts of research-oriented institutions, in order to ensure that the design proposal is not only distinctive but also feasible and practical in real scenario applications.
Inspirasjon: Inspired by the design philosophies of the world's leading institutions, the team aims to create an open, collaborative, and inspiring learning environment, making every interior design distinctive.
Prosjektvarighet: The project commenced in July 2023 and was completed in July 2024.
Driftsflyt: The versatility of spaces is achieved through the flexible setup of furniture and the design of adaptable teaching areas. A variety of colors, materials, artworks, and space configurations are used to foster an academic environment that fits with the identity of each building and underlines the cultural philosophy and values of the institution.
